yijiang gu Replaced with second-hand unit due to stupid Subaru replacement parts prices. Once changed, there is a process used to teach the ECU the closed/open positions. Then all good!
What other problems did you have? I have been told my TB may be bad. I’m experiencing coming from high rpms after a clutch in the car comes directly to idle and dies with the a/c on. Start it back up and it idles low for awhile and then comes back to normal. It drives fine with the a/c off. I’m super lost on this no check engine light or anything.
Yeah. While running it would go from normal throttle operation to idle or stall. It would randomly drop power when driving, I’d stab the clutch and the engine would idle (no response to throttle pedal) or just stop. I’d turn ignition off, key out, then try again. I could get home but I wasn’t going far. I bought a matching part number unit off a wrecker and swapped it. I read on a Subaru forum a procedure to re-learn the correct idle position. It still idled too high after completing the procedure but the ECU keeps learning and it’s 100% normal now. Subaru Australia quoted $2,100 for the throttle body but the used part was $200. Definitely recommend fitting a used one. Good luck!
