I was born in the 1950's. Instead of being placed in-front of a TV set, I had a Grundig Hi-Fi record player along with a huge stack of marvelous 78's that kept me mesmerized throughout the day (until American Bandstand came on at 3 PM). This wonderful record by the Three Suns, along with records from Django Reinhardt, Perez Prado, Martin Denny and (in-particular) Louis Armstrong's LA VIE EN ROSE kept me enchanted (along with all the Boogie-Woogie 78's). It's a strongly evocative record for me (as most of my childhood memories are closely associated with music).
That was my first book I began learning from. I think its a decent beginners guide but over time you're gonna bump into issues the book doesn't cover but thats a rare occurrence and I think the book covers enough for a beginner to go on. Also the grey top on tubes always means its still good, if its white then its bad. It oxides when exposed to gas and its what helps keep the vacuum and when its gone its gone (Called the getter)
Oh my gosh....with your wavy, blonde hair you look like the Fallout vault boy.😆 Which isn't a bad thing!😅 I love the video Gregola and I fully support you! Say, when your journey takes off, I may contact you to service my what's-it's that I purchase in the near future.😉 I want to learn how to fix antique radios, phonographs, things like that as well. Folks like you are sought after. I thank you for your knowledge. Much luck!😁💖
Wonder if this was mastered with RIAA EQ...as were the RCA 78's from the era...US copies of "New Orthophonic High Fidelity" had a similar label to the LP. Columbia LPs with this type of label were generally mastered to the Columbia "LP" standard. When you see the "Six Eye" you are nearly certain to have an RIAA mastered disc. But a Canadian 78 made after they US quit making them???? I have no idea? Good stumping question?
Looks like a Canadian copy with the flat black label some were flat blue. I used to have 2 ten inch RCA copies of Slim Whitman, one blue and one black both Canadian
