Thanks for this, and for all the other on-board footage you put up. Thanks too for leaving the sound as it is and not shoving any music over the top. If only RU-vid had a smell feature...

What a beauty ! And what a lovely flying field ! At the beginning of the video I was wondering about the 'rust stains' marring the fuselage below the struts and along the 'seam'. After landing I noticed the fresh, windswept oil stains on the struts (3:57) and spattering on upper fuselage in front of pilot. So: not rust - used engine oil. Am I right ? Now I'm going looking for build videos - down the rabbit hole we go ...
Really showing what pilots had to contend with b4 even getting into combat, and how fragile these aircraft were, so in 1917 when bloody month ( April If remember correctly ) took place and life expectancy was weeks you can see why from this great video footage, we get so used to health & safety & at points over the top. Brilliant book to read " SAGGITARIOUS RISING " real 1st WW pilots experience, also very funny with black humour, still makes me smile when think of things they got up to. Grandfather was ww1, gas killed him eventually in early 1960s. From Great War amat. historian, THANKS FOR PUTTING THIS FANTASTIC VIDEO UP AND EXPLAN. Of what was going on. Must get to Shuttleworth Collection. Steve High Barnet nr Hendon.
