We are Level Up Reptiles we are a small hobby breeder as of now but we want to share our journey to see what we can and will become in the future. We will have About us videos how we do things and tips and tricks for your ball pythons.
I have a 35 yr old female ball python. There is a huge difference between snakes raised in tubs and snakes raised in large environments. You breeders use tubs, therefore you stunt your snakes, making them chubby and short. My female is 5ft 3inches long, eats a jumbo rat every 2 weeks and isn't fat. You breeders truly can't determine proper weight when you are restricting the snakes growth. You keep a reticulated python in tubs, they'll never reach 30ft. You give one a huge enclosure, 30ft long plus that hieght then you'll see a 30ft snake. It's all about the environments and feeding. Snakes never stop growing.
I’m sorry you feel that way but everything you’re saying is not true at all…all our adult females are 5ft or more and are a healthy weight…non of our females are fat, there healthy and they never miss a meal…but anyway sorry you feel this way…Thanks for watching!!!
The first egg your daughter cut was beautiful did u notice the one spot looked like a heart that was so good to see the younger ones interested and learning
Yep there’s one in every crowd but there is many ways you can try to prevent the defensiveness it just takes time and handling until there comfortable…some just take longer than others…Thanks for Watching!!!
@@LevelUpReptiles as much as I agree with the sentiment, I have no idea the size breeder you r, but once u get to triple digits u will find a couple regardless of time commitment and patience you have will NEVER like you or ppl in general. Was kinda my point. It's rare, but true puppy dog, they recognize u, u only, don't have to be picked up but come to u tame isn't that common either. Then 90% will fall somewhere in the middle and yep handling time and patience will work wonders! Edit =no offense intended! Just want ppl to know those snakes do exist, rare as it is
I get it I have one adult female that was nasty when I first got her, she still doesn’t care for me but she has settled down a lot since I’ve had her…though they may never fully trust you can get them to tolerate you a little more
Thanks for the advice!! I completely agree with all of these, and it's nice to see someone spreading the correct information for beginners!🔥 You got a new subscriber!!! Look forward to new videos😁🙌🔥
NO hypo in here as of now there will be in the future also I have plenty of ball pythons that are ready for this year that are stacked that I’ve been growing up…Clown Ultramels and hypo combos coming up next season…Thanks for watching!!!
@@LevelUpReptiles this hobby is a lot of fun. You’re doing great! I have been in the hobby almost 11 years. I bought a beautiful reduced pattern mystic female to make mystic potions. Grew her up, bred her to a Mojave male. I made super Mojaves. It’s okay, I traded for a phantom male het clown, grew him up and bred him to the mystic (now Mojave) and made a two female purple passions pos het clown. The hobby is so much fun! You’re doing great!
So it’s personal preference the way I do it is to wait for one to pip once that happens I cut the rest it’s usually almost always on day 57 of incubation…It also helps if a snake can’t get out of the egg and drowns that is very unlikely but it does happen
That maybe the hardest part of breeding is the waiting game!!! I have some high end females I’ve been growing up for a couple years and they will finally be ready to go this fall…Thanks for watching!!!
It wasn’t cold the temp in the incubator is set at 89.3… the egg probably wasn’t at 89 degrees cause it was out of the incubator for a little bit for the video…all snakes are currently out and looking good!!! Thanks for watching
Cool I like the look of Super fires depending how much yellow shows through…Leopard is one thing I don’t have that I would like to get in the future as well…Good Luck and Thanks for watching
Good question…I do breed ASF’s that’s what I feed almost everything in my collection…The hatchlings I sell are all on Rats and I buy them from a local rat breeder at a very good price, I would breed rats as well but I just don’t have the space to do so right now and for me breeding ASF’s are just easier at the moment…The shows are very hit or miss I’ve only done 3 but I feel once I get more hatchlings produced to where I have more of a variety it will get better plus still trying to get my name out there for people to trust in what we do
@LevelUpReptiles I can understand that. Getting people to know, like, and trust is the key in any business model. I do think the shows could be a great pathway for that even if the sales aren't there. Love what you guys are doing. Keep it up.
Thank you and you are right even if I don’t sell anything at a show it is worth my time to go and meet people hand out business cards and just be in the eye of the reptile community and eventually things will get worked out
Yea she is as big into this as i am and I definitley have no problem letting her try a project on her own plus who doesn't love pied's...Thanks for watching!!!
Me and my son just got our 1st two and plan to do the same thing in the future after we get used to raising these a little bit, we received ours 2 days ago in the mail so we haven’t handled our yet, I hope there and chill as yours!
That's kool little at a time, my son and I are trying to do the same, 4 males and 3 females and a set of Guyana Redtails, my Boas are very young and I do have some big pythons, good luck, kool video, 👍🏾
Awesome setup bro! Way nicer than mine. I've got 15 snakes and started collecting a little over 2 years ago. My wife hated the snakes in the beginning so every snake that I bought was"the last one" which forced me to buy quality over quality. I've got some nice stuff in my opinion. If I could give you one piece of advice it would be to buy quality over quality. I know a quality that has 80 snakes because he dove into it. Now he's trying to get rid of them because they're all single gene co-dom stuff. At least buy hets. You're on the right track bro. Keep it up
Thank you for the advice. I do plan on buying atleast het females and visual males from here on out. The first i'm currently looking for a ultramel male with some other recessive with it not sure what yet maybe clown or pied... Thanks for watching!!!
Hi guys, I’m another small breeder from over the pond. I have been breeding 9years and i started similar to you. I only Wanted to work incomplete dominate traits to start with, now looking back, i wish i had played it differently. You already have some really nice females. if you invest in 1 visual male or even double visual male. Then everything you produce from him and more importantly hold back will be guaranteed hets. So you will still be producing the incomplete dominate animals the same as you planned but they will be hets for your chosen recessive projects. Do that and you will set yourself up for a bright future in the hobby and your future-self will thank you😂😉. I soo wish i had done that when i started, i should have sold all my males and just had one or 2 visual males to plug to my girls. I would be much further on if i had done that! I still support slow growth, after all it takes females 3 years minimum to sexually mature so this is not a get rich quick scheme, but it will put more power into your collection from the first season. Good video guys, new sub here🙋🏼♂️. I invite you to my channel also, in the hopes you find some of my content informative and enjoyable. Cheers👍🏻 joe
Thanks you for watching and thanks for the info I plan on getting a male Ultramel within the next year with some other recessive trait not exactly sure which other one yet though…I plan on the rest of my females I purchase to be at least het for something and all the males I purchase will be recessive in the future…once again thanks for watching
It’s not a full rack but I have 2 levels of the 10 series tubs 2 levels of the 55’s and one level of the 70’s..that gives me 21 assorted spots…I paid roughly 1,100 but I didn’t have to have it shipped I live pretty close to the ARS facility
You could get a clown pair for like 600. Personally I'd take a clown male to the od females first year then year two take one of the het clown males to the clown female for od clowns
