From The Top Rope was created by myself, Ewan McQuade. I am graduate from Staffordshire University with a degree in Film & Television. I've loved professional wrestling from an early age, I used to love catching up on late 2010s WWE with the WWE Experience show on Sky One and from there I have just dived head first into the industry.
I am an established writer at two major wrestling news outlets, WhatCulture and Last Word On Pro Wrestling. It was here that l honed my writing skills and developed a lot of my analytical skills for the art form.
If dijak got a IWGP title run in japan it will be crazy bruv, and I want him to stay free agent and show up everywhere to be honest cuz not even AEW or WWE really put over every talent that they have properly except they are still young or very entertaining outside in ring aspect maybe work for him.

what's hilarious to me is that the trolls out here think they are so smart because they see that the ratings of a 5-year-old company is way below the ratings of a 50+ year old company and speak negatively about it. like if aew was beating wwe in ratings right now, then that would mean there's a very real problem. also how everyone was begging for an alternative wrestling company for years and then they got it and started shitting all over it and ran back to wwe once it became good again (thanks to aew btw). and how people get so mad at tk for not booking HIS company the way that they fantasy book it for their twitter posts. wwe fans are the problem. on top of that, i absolutely hate on tony khan ffor every last little thing but what keep the same energy for triple h or hbk. hypocrisy is so ugly to me.
AEW is like a strip club with ugly strippers! Its a strip club but why would you want to stay there when there are better options! Plus AEW is still new so if nobody wants to watch or attend, they will go away!

I've been a fan of AEW since day one, and while I enjoy clowning on them, I absolutely don't want them to do poorly. Despite some decisions that have alienated fans like me (Punk Cody and their guys being pushed aside), It would cause me nothing but joy to see them succeed and once again outshine WWE's product. I have no company loyalty, I just want to watch good content. However, Tony Khan and people like Jericho haven't helped mitigate this ratings discource issue. Like Bischoff and Hogan in WCW and TNA, they've gone out of their way to make fans focus on ratings and demos. I legit didn't even know what a demo was before AEW and hearing Tony talk about it over and over again. Jericho straight up called himself the 'demo god'. Thats a double edged sword, it works when youre hot, but you give trolls free ammo when youre not as hot.
I think in general Jericho could do with taking a break he is pushing viewers away,the learning tree gimmick isn’t working whatsoever.AEW needs to keep going on this path they’re on it will turn the creative has improved this year and will get stronger aswell,MJF is your Austin and will drag viewers in single handed.The injuries haven’t helped either as it’s stalled some story progression.

@@shaundunne1791 I would suggest you rewatch the segments and focus on Big Bill. Because he is the actual MVP, he has a bunch of subtle comments that are pretty hilarious. Like, someone insults him and he's like "you got me there 😃"

This is why I subscribe to your channel,it’s always a very fair and balanced discussion.The tribalism within wrestling fans these days is mad,I think a huge proportion of people that are swaying to wwe are mainly kids and it’s all they know so they fear the unknown,while older fans like myself embrace AEW as it’s something new and different and it’s a far cry from what wwe offers and so it should be.The likes of whatculture have a lot to answer for too in my opinion they really like taking pops and AEW and give the trolls something to feed off.
AEW are starting to do things right,in and out of the ring.These shows will be amazing the fans will be pumped and it’s going to lead to bigger sales for Wembley.
Completely agree! I think it's the perfect warm up event for the event and I hope this leads to AEW expanding more internationally and doing a few more tapings outside the US and Canada.
I went to Wembley last year and was amazing, decided to not go this year as I like to vary things so when I heard bout Cardiff I was excited. Never been to Cardiff so gonna have a few extra days to explore and spend all my money, btw bumped into Trent and his mum sue last year , sue is a legend
I'm new on buying the wwe DLC just got this years DLC for the first time ever with me buying the season pass does that mean I'll have to pay extra for the other packs I already just have the Punk pack but in order to get the other packs will I have to pay another 40 bucks in order to get them🤔
I you have purchased the Season Pass, you will be able to download the packs on the day of release with no extra charge! That's how they have always worked for me and I have been purchasing them for the last 4 entries or so! Enjoy my friend!

Have all those wrestlers you mentioned get better ratings than Jericho and then you won't see him anymore. Kind of defeats the argument that he should go away and people are turned off by the product if his segments are the highest rated ones on the show.
Chris Jericho was booked way better in WWE. In AEW, Chris Jericho’s gimmicks are terrible and cringe worthy. His Le Champion and Wizard Gimmicks were only 2 good gimmicks he had in AEW, while the others have been hot garbage…
Jericho was always overratted, never had main event talent and failed everytime he was pushed as one! Cant stand the guy, his ego is undeserved, as is his fame!!
I was at this event in Doncaster, and it was epic, the owner was also there and loved himself too much, I also heard about him not running it very well and taking out loans to run it again under a different company name.im surprised it didn't get bought out after airing on ITV and fire network.
Him going to new Japan would be best for now,having him cross over for mini feuds with Osprey or even competing in the continental classic would make him feel like the major deal he is and not this shit that he’s had to do in WWE.
I could see Ricochet freelance for a bit in NJPW and the Indies to try to raise his stock. People have been conditioned to think of him as a midcarder. Maybe even NOAH instead to completely avoid any semblance of AEW disloyalty heat with WWE.

Got my combo tickets for £370 (block 232). Not cheap I know but nowhere near as bad as it’s made out to be. Tickets for MITB in London were also combo tickets and a similar price. Just to clarify I’m not condoning the ticket prices and I too think they are expensive for what they are, I just think that the expensive tickets are what are left (which will reduce in price closer to the event) and that all the cheaper/more reasonable ticket prices were sold immediately when they went on the sale.
Agree with your views on the length of the show, and I too would have cut Cassidy/Beretta and the trios match. Would’ve saved MJF’s return promo for Dynamite too. Personally think the FTW match served as a needed palette cleanser though. Overall, still a great PPV without a single bad match. The triple main event delivered, and Ospreay/Strong was phenomenal

A buddy and I splurged for WrestleMania weekend. Stageside lower level for both nights of Mania and "just get in the building" seats for Smackdown and Raw. It was about $1400 each or around £1100 ($1100 for Mania and $300 for SD/Raw). We are local to Philly so no hotels, travel or dining. Just drove to the shows each night in our own cars. I even knew a cheat code for parking from going to sporting events at the same venue so we parked on the street and saved a total of $140 just on parking over the four nights. It was incredible and I don't regret it at all...BUT that's because it's freakin Mania and XL was a generational Mania at that. For a "B" show to be this expensive is just insanity. The Philadelphia area gets tons of live shows and I'm happy that WWE is giving international fans a chance to see some awesome events in-person without having to catch a flight and wreck their sleep schedule BUT if it's only the super wealthy that are going to be able to enjoy these shows, that defeats the purpose. I do believe they have now released single-event tickets for Clash. Triple H said affordability is important to him in a recent "press conference." We'll see about that...

Me personally, I'm all for Mone and Ospreay and champs. I was a big fan of the silly nonsense. Totally here for Anarchy in the Arenas and Stadium Stampedes. I like that these shows have a bit of everything for all tastes in wrestling!
Loved Becky and Liv classic wrestling match and it really got off at the end and great finish triple threat and main event was great , the finish to nia vs Lyra was BADASS and Randy vs Gunther that was truly a classic
Preshow Not bad Liv vs Lynch Enjoyed the chain then blah 1.75/5 Triple threat IC Zayn vs Reed vs Gable Very nice match be interesting at raw 3/5 Nia vs Lyra Lyra did well 1/5 Nia aint great Randy vs Gunther fantastic Orton still selling leg from Tama match amazing Gunther taking out Leg and Back great ending fantastic As now we get a Orton vs Gunther feud 4/5 Cody vs Logan To me no one has ever being as good as Longan that fast 3.8/5 Solid match 3.75/5 nearly a 4/5 I enjoyed a lot I cant wait for Jacob Fatu to join And Tama has being pushed like a boss
