Sarvapriyananda ji, There is a series of videos 'Atma Bodha' by Adhi Shankaracharya by Tadatmananda which made me Enlightened. You can watch it couple of times, the series of videos and one can get Enlightened
Nidhidhyasana gives benefits on foundation of prior sravana and manana. In absence of such foundation, Swami ji words are still immensely beneficial and can potentially lead us to start building the foundation. In today’s session the immersion of our awareness into the analysis of pancha Kosha and reaching the point where we realise that indeed it is the awareness in which all is immersed and is an appearance instead is beautiful Thank you Swami ji
I was always confused about the concepts of consciousness and mind. After hearing swamijis beautiful explanation, I have clarity on consciousness. Thanks a lot swamiji. Real authority in Vedanta philosophy 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
What would you now say your confusion was? I think a lot of us, as well as me, are thus confused. Often times I'm not even clear about what the confusion is. So what is the confusion that we have yet to see in ourselves? The confusion that we need to see as confusion in the moment that it arises in us and see it clearly as the confusion it is. Is the confusion that we take our concepts of consciousness to be the whole of our consciousness? What would you say your confusion was? Is it something like we don't see and sense the gap that Swami refers to after the 44:30 mark? "This gap which would arise between me and the contents of mind (including desires to do unwholesome things) should free me from those impulses. Usually why we do these things is we are overtaken by the mind (i.e. contents of consciousness). Our desires are so powerful; our fears and temptations, terros and temptations are so powerful they overpower (us). It is usually: 'I know it is wrong but I can't help it'. That is where I am being overtaken by the mind. (However there can be) this gap which opens up between me and the mind. This (gap) should actually help in gaining control over the lower instincts of the mind. (If we are familiar with this gap and can recognize it when we are in confusion) Higher mind then becomes energized. Knowing yourself to be beyond mind (beyond the contents of consciousness), to be the witness of the mind transcends the mind to take control of the mind and the senses. The best way to take control of the mind and the senses is to know that you are not the mind and the senses (i.e. the contents of consciousness)." So what have you seen about your confusion? Everyone's experience on these matters are a unique contribution that can help whoever reads it. Please take time to let us know. Thanks be and be well.
First two questions are not clear as some echo/ distance is there. Could anybody type those questions? So Swamiji's response can be appreciated more in that context.
@@MM-dh3writ's an analogy. If you want a more "scientific" analogy, look at the sub-atomic level - there is no boundary between the atoms of one object and the atoms of the air around it. That would be a more accurate analogy to what he's trying to express, but that would confuse many people.
@@colinmccowan9056 why talk of two and try to negate the duality.; also ocean, salt, the space the ocean occupied all can coexist….there is no need for push one to establish another….
Ocean contains water, salt and the space it occupies. Same space and two entities at least ….water is not part of salt and salt is not part of water. They coexists. If you go only one consciousness then why talk of many and then try to negate the duality
It's an analogy. At the quantum level is anything really different? Everything is built up of the same fundamental building block, he is just using an analogy to try to make it easier to grasp.
Pranam 🙏. Swami Vivekananda said ,if one progressing spiritually, three things increase -- 1. Cheerfulness 2. Fearlessness 3. Compassion. Hence ,such person will engage to things which increase above qualities and ,disengage from those things which disturb the above position .
Yes when it comes to mind as seen and i witness as seer it becomes vague. I know the ups and downs of my mind, it's emotions still it is not clearly known to me there is an element of uncertainty there, in knowing my mind.
The atman within (Is) Brahman without..... This is the simplicity of the connection to the completion. The real? When all is adorned, there is no significance.🙂🕊️🙂
Thank you, Swami Sarvapriyananda! It's very good to aware yourself as consciousness, and not body, but the important spiritual question concern on the quality of consciousness, - is it pure or dirty (like a water of the wave)? In my spiritual journey in this ocean of life I wuld like to be a clean water in order to join with the ocean consisting on pure and clean water, but not be in the company of dirty, bad smelling pool.
Is space dirty or pure..space that envelops you..then..how so the consciousness that holds the thought of space..or thought of i..dirty..pure..!! You are ever pure..who can touch you..
@@vijujaidhara9013 You are right atman or spirit is always pure, but not jiva or my individual soul. Atman is only shining, but jiva can be like a fog or a dirty water, in ignorance, envy, lust, pride and so on. In every spiritual tradition we can find a lot of recommendation to purification, liberation the dirty condition of our jiva in order to unify ourselves with the God.
