Have had mine for 3 years, except I painted a black line around the field between the squares and notation with quality grade craft paint cause it looks more pro, and use a 3.5 weighed Staunton. Jaques style, instead of these overly decorated pieces. I receive comments such as “your set is state of the art.”
Do you have any idea of companies that do Nato straps which are thicker? I've bought a beautiful Seiko with fabric strap and it's beautiful and thick. Seiko sell them but they're about £125 😒
I just ordered the ribbed 2-piece ballistic nylon velcro straps and was wondering how long did it take for you to receive yours? Asking because I’m not sure if they’re made to order or ready to ship. Thanks in advance!
If I were you, I’d invest in the version 3 of this ultimate chess set model. The version you have although good, has a tendency of developing loose weights that rattle. Unless you like to correct that issue with uncapping the base plug to the chess piece and applying a strong glue, may I suggest to buy the new version III model where the weights are manufactured so that none of the weights will ever loosen barring being cracked open with a hammer. I have 4 sets of each model, the butterball which you own and the new appliance white with superior weighting system installed. You won’t go wrong at all with the newest version. Just a suggestion that’s all I’m saying….Jorge from NYC.
The best pieces for blitz are triple weighted Ultimate chess pieces V3 (in the video he showed the V2), but I think these weighted gambit pieces would work ok in a blitz or bullet game even tho they don't have the biggest heads which is good for blitz and bullet. If you want to play bliz, you will need a different type of board, I would recommend mousepad type mat, because he ordered a silicone mat and on silicone mats you can't slide pieces smoothly. You can't slide them in general. I hope this helps😁
When i got this chess set i was absolutely stunned with how much detail went into the pieces. It was one of the first boards i got and i have not regretted it i still use it today. My only complaint is that the insert is cheap and the queen and kings crowns could be broken easily if you're not careful. Otherwise this is the perfect board for me.
Hi I love your unboxing chess videos but I’m trying to get theses chess pieces too but when I click on the link it just takes me to eBay and doesn’t show the pieces what do I search up?
I really want these types of chess sets, but I cannot find the yellow looking ones, only the white ones. Is there a new link to this, anything would be appreciated.
I have that same exact board that you have on the floor and I just ordered that exact same set, you unboxed, before watching this video… It’s a conspiracy 😳
No leather hinged box like I got with mine. I hope they have not abandoned providing these. That would be a deal breaker for me in terms of getting another steinhart, even though I love my ocean 39;green ceramic. The box just added that extra bit of class. I hate cardboard boxes, however fancied up
Nice review, Thumbs up given! I like this model so much I bought it twice (earlier one with the gray dial and later one with the black dial) I keep one on a NATO to mimick the original Rolex MilSub that had fixed lug pins and could only be worn with a NATO
I've had this model for just over two years and it's been a wonderful experience. The size for my 7.5 inch wrist is perfect. No problems with the bracelet. It has become my daily watch. I just love it. I'm sure you will too.
Hi Marlon, yes a number of other stores in the USA used to stock these pieces but now seem to be out of stock. Maybe communicate with these below and see when they will get more? Also, if you're an international customer, you'll have to check with them whether they ship abroad: amchesseq.com/collections/tournament-style-chess-pieces www.chessset.com/plastic-chess-sets.html Good luck!
I have put mine away on purpose in a tight fold-- just lay in out and let it sit-- any wrinkles will go away-- so far I have NO evidence of wrinkles left!
yes for serious playing, you can't get better than these pieces. I do like wooden sets for aesthetics and for display at home, but not so much for playing
These pieces do not slide on the mousepad chess board, but they do slide on vinyl boards (i.e. they do slide on the black & white board that is featured in my other video)
I just ordered these and I am from Belgium. I paid 80 euros in total. I also saw them in Hikaru’s video and I instant fell in love. The butter yellow just stands out and the way the pawns look, I love it. I paid alot of money for plastic pieces but I see it as an investement over time.
