Bouchard went 6 in my 12 man categories league. I was picking 10th and thought I could snag him with my 2nd pick lol Ended up with B Tkachuk and Josi with my top 2
Great video and insight. Can't say I agree with the Zero G strategy for my league though. its categories with 4/10 of the categories coming from goalies. Each year I have noticed that having at least one elite goalie is required to do well in playoffs. Last year my goalies (Hellebyuck, Anderson, Kochetkov) were the only reason I was even able to make playoffs in the last two weeks of the regular season.
I landed with UPL (7th) and Mrazek (10th) in my Zero G strategy yesterday in my fantasy CATS 16 man league. We draft 17 players total, so I think I did pretty solid as both these guys will be starting goalies on improved teams from last season. #Apples & Ginos Rule!!!
good insight! that plus a good knowledge of the upcoming schedule for the following month or so can really reinforce this strategy. Knowing when a team has a better than average amount of back to back games in a given period of say 5 or 6 weeks, allows you to get a backup goalie on a good team dirt cheap. thanks, great stuff man!
Do you think zero g strategy changes for cats leagues? 4 of the 12 cats in my league are goalies. I’ve seen some people say true “zero g” is great for points leagues but less so for cats leagues. Thoughts?
Wow a 7.64% shooting percentage. That is nothing short of abysmal. The league average was 10.1%. It couldn't get worse than last year for SJ. But the D is still porous so in fantasy I don't think you can roster Askarov. He should be a stash in keeper leagues. The only fantasy piece I am interested in is Cellebrini.
The one draft I get in where I’m not actually watching and listening is the one I get some gas. You’re the man, Blake. I told Nate I loved him in one livestream and I don’t wanna seem like a two timing floozy but… I love you too, blakey.
Blake, in a banger (PIMs, no Blocks) cats league, can I get your rank order between the players below? I have 10th, 12th, 17th, and 19th OA and I'm struggling to rank these players as my targets. Kaprizov (10th), Jack Hughes (12th?), Panarin, Makar, JT Miller, Nylander (17th?), Marner (17th?), Josi (19th?), Dahlin, Bouchard.
For Your Information, basically he's saying these guys are a bit outside your Zero-G goalies but are guys to watch on the wire and consider for waiver adds if the matchup is good.
In a Fantasy pool it depends on the settings. The settings can massively change how you draft because it goalies are weighted high with several categories it only takes 2 goalies to win all those stats but it might take 5/6/7+ foarwds to win maybe a few more categories. So both the amount of categories for both and the amount of total players drafted and the amount allowed in an active roster. Sadly this dude seems to be doing more advertising selling than hockey discussion.
Won my 14 man hits and blks cats league last year, regular season and playoffs, had far and away the best team. Took my goalies with the last two picks in the draft (Rd 17 & 18) . They ended up getting dropped pretty early on. Zero G is definitely the way. Hard to predict which goalies are going to be good so invest nothing in them and wait to see who is good on waivers and you're always in a spot where you can drop and add goalies while all the other chumps are locked into the guys sinking their teams. Peace and love and good luck in your drafts!
Holy S! Where does a guy start drafting goalies in a 14 team 29 round draft with just 3 G cats, Wins, Saves, and save%. I'm thinking round 6 for the first 1? Save% and saves can get done with a goalie like Askarov,?
Hanifin wasn't even PP1 on Calgary. Theodore is in another class of offensive player. Vegas would be silly not to use him on the top PP. Hanifin's value is at even strength.
They really play a solid defensive system that makes their goalies look better than on other teams…TAlbot is a Great example. Darcy Kuemper could be a late steal as a result 👍
I think your Red Wings predictions are not considering our prospects coming up. I think you guys are off. Goalie situation is a mess but our blue line will be deeper. We shall see
@@applesginos Not that he will play badly, he will probably score 50+ points. And then again have long stretches of surfing around doing nothing. I have just followed Bruins hockey and the dude is just average all around imo. Average IQ, predictable, going on rail tracks kind of player. Nothing to get excited about. I think his ADP is not worth it compared to what you can get around that value. For example I would rather take a flyer on Guenther much later than this. I can be wrong.
I don't like the way things are looking for Demko if his injury is permanent, like they say it is. Was he missing playoff games with the same injury is the question, or how much better is he actually with this just permanent injury than when he missed some important time,. I hope he is still elite, but I'm pretty nervous about grabbing him as my number 1 in my upcoming drafts.
A manager is allowed 150 entries, so if you're only putting in one entry, you've basically zero shot at making the top. Not to mention the possibility of double-accounts, which is common in huge online poker tournaments, and also against the rules.
I think Guentzel has an outside chance mostly based on deployment. He is likely going to be playing shotgun with Kucherov and Point on line one and play on the best power play in the league. What’s not to like? I’m actually curious what about his metrics had you play it conservative?
Did I miss it or is Quinn Hughes not in your top 10 for banger leagues? Even in banger leagues I think he's Dman #5 between Hedman (#6) and Bouchard/Dahlin/Josi. 90 point upside but doesn't shoot or hit quite as much as Bouchard. I'll take that over Hedman's moderate peripherals and 70 points and absolutely over Weegar and Seider.
