Fascinating. Sadly there are NO names on the medals OR the boxes of Jubilee medals that we received in the Ambulance service. I guess the same will be for the Kings Coronation Medal when it finally arrives
I do enjoy listening to this guy. A very melodic voice. Almost compassionate, which goes very well with the history that he is relating. Lets have some more of this. Thank you
It was a sign of distinction for Australian soldiers (ANZAC's) to have the 1914-15 Star because it signified they fought at Gallipoli and were originators of the ANZAC tradition....
No, they fought for civilization, just as in WWII: Remember them with gratefullnes, because otherwise your world today was not free; to speak out this comment p.e. Love from Holland
Absolutely beautiful and an emotional rollercoaster. I feel so proud of everyone taking part and all those who will never to be forgotten who are shown on the wonderful still photos. Hereford cathedral and Ascension making a beautiful backdrop.
The ‘Mons Star’ was the 1914 Star with clasp and was awarded for being within range of the enemy mobile artillery between the dates of 5th August to 22nd November which meant you were an Old Contemptible. Others received The 14 Star without clasp. This was not explained. Source. The Mons Star by David Ascoli.
Denzil, it was an absolute honour to be at your funeral on Saturday, the true love shown for you by everyone was overwhelming, thank you for your service, you have sacrificed so much for us as a country and we are eternally grateful, you now sit on the highest table, god bless.
I am very grateful for the help I received from the ABF, things would have been a lot more difficult without their help. I am now an ambassador for the charity helping to raise funds for more people in need. Today I leave for France to join others from the charity doing the Frontline walk.
