I thought the volume was too low when I heard this 2 years ago. I heard this again now, and the volume was adjusted much louder. I can now hear the best audio and can appreciate her playing in full. It is fully justified that this is the best Mendelssohn that I heard in this generation of violinists.
Her skilful and beautiful and graceful and wonderful performance will soothe and moisturize your soul, which has been parched byte the winds of this transiet world, where is full of trouble and annoyabces
Vergleiche mal das mit Vengerow und man hört den Unterschied schon in den ertsen Takten. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DvbndXvcJw0.html -- I don't listen to interpretations by Asians as a matter of principle. I don't think that's just prejudice, but I don't feel anything for all these Asians. Nothing. Technically brilliant, as often, but somehow I always lack the European soul that has grown up with this Western European music for centuries. You can practice our music from the front and vice versa 14 hours a day until your fingers bleed, but that certain something is missing. Whether it's Lang Lang or an Asian. The same on all instruments. Played perfectly, but with semi-feelings that aren't right. Compare that with Vengerow and you can already hear the difference in the first bars. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DvbndXvcJw0.html
Nice! Your videos should be seen by more viewers. May I repost your channel without changing anything on the clean platform named Gan Jing World? Thank you!
A very lyrical intensely felt outpouring of the concerto despite the orchestra which needed to wake up to this magical performance. But her violin sings and soars. She's on fire and dancing in the last movement
I come back to listen to her again. In the past, good as she was, there seemed to be lacking something. This time, I turn up the volume as loud as possible. Wow, I now realize how magnificent her playing is. Even the orchestra sounds much better and applause at the end is thunderously enthusiastic.
On repeated listening (and watching) to this performance of her Mendelssohn, there is a maturity in her, more mature than before. Bravisimmo. This performance has etched on my mind forever, just like her Beethoven in Poznań in 2016. .
Always love to watch her on stage and love to listen to her playing. At the beginning, there seems to lack some energy, but after the cadenza, all has changed and she seems to have inspired and energized the whole orchestra. The third movement is the best. As in her Beethoven Concerto in the Poznań concert, she seems to have saved her best for the last moments of the concertos. Bravo as always. Always delighted to see the oboist and the flutist play in this orchestra too.
According to Wikipedia, she plays on the 1710 King George Stradivarius and the 1773 ex-Bückeburg J.B. Guadagnini violin. She plays the Guadagini here. Never saw her play the Strad.
She has a nice tone and is talented but her interpretation is nothing original, nothing distinguishing, but just a standard run. Her tone is weighty emotionally, her phrasing lacks character, and her bowing style sounds more like that of a concertmaster than a soloist. For this piece, I would listen to Heifetz for artistry and architecture, and Hahn for outstanding bowing.
Are you by any feminist reason naming only female violinists…? Are we still on THAT level…? There are female violinists and male violinists…? As it is in football..?
@@leonardoiglesias2394 Leonardo Iglesias, Soyoung Yoon performed this concerto in Bilbao again on April 19, 2021 with the BILBAO ORKESTRA SINFONIKOA. Just look at the concert master and the first chair of the second violin section. They are both young females. They played with such energy and involvement. The tympanist was also a young female, with the same excellence. If you look at the first two chairs of the second violin section, you can see they were just so routinely sitting there. They looked like unconsciously incompetent, not involved at all. There is no bias on female or male violinists. Just watch them, listen to them. If they are good, they are good. Also, the best orchestra members here in the KBS are the flautist and the oboist. Both happen to be females.
She performed this concerto again in Bilbao 2 years later, April 19, 2021. The Bilbao Symphony Orchestra was far better with a lot more energy. Probably because of this, her playing in Bilbao was better than this.
Soyoung, evidence of the new wave of young violinists from Korea. One of my favorites, for her virtuosity without loose sensibility. To me, the best interpreter of Piazzola in violin.
