Hi there, welcome to The Chequered Flag! This channel is all about cars and motorbikes, but also big boy's toys and collectibles... We have road tests, product reviews, action videos and the occasional amusing video too...
Take heatsink off, buy a Y wire. Then run ESC & upgraded heatsink & fan through Y wire. It works better because that stock heatsink is insufficient for decent length 3s running. Also buy a 150A ESC, with a (deans) jump adapter/plug. The 100A ESC is holding torque back, it acts as a restriction.
@Thecarandfortniteguy I bought a 2s lipo for it, think it's a 1400 mah... It was quick enough for my son when he was 7. Personally though, I would recommend the brushless version, does about 25 mph out of the box, and can apparently run a 3s lipo. Also check out my video of the mjx hyper go, that thing is mental!
Is the Bluetooth adapter no good now? When you first reviewed at purchase you said it was great but didn’t sound as keen in this video or is the problem more to do with where it’s plugged in on the c30? Cheers
@AdamSmith-ep2uq hey buddy, it still works fine tbh... The issue is more the socket in the volvo isn't great, and occasionally it drops signal. It also looks pretty cheap tbh. Where the socket is mounted in the volvo, it's also easy to catch the Bluetooth receiver and knock it out of place. I'm looking at replacing it with something that has a rechargeable battery, and maybe something with a screen too, so I can see what song is playing. As a short term solution, it's actually pretty good. Especially for the price
I spent hours polishing my car head lights and the looked fantastic until i turned them on, thousands of tiny deep cracks appeared, making them cloudy, bought new ones
Thank you Chris, glad you're enjoying your c30, this is based off a universal diffuser which is then cut and sanded to fit c30 facelifts as stated in your video, all bolts are to be replaced and will be looking into this for the best longevity, I also included the black plastic nuts and bolts which hold to C30's perfectly well as I don't like self tappers myself either for rust issues. The small screws in the kit I am looking to get stainless steel but just need to find the correct size so they're not too big on the diffuser. If anyone has any input or feedback or wants to purchase a kit send me a message bank transfer only but always happy to help otherwise, I also make custom c30 headlights for any c30 owners. All feedback helps me make myself and the product better 👌 thank you hopefully we can make a set for pre-facelift eventually.
Thanks for the update Luc, I'll be sure to mention your comments in the next video. Many thanks again for sorting this out for me, and I'm excited to get it on the car!
@the chequered flag. Yes I agree but it's cheap and really a good product. And the hybrid products are brill if you haven't tried them then check them out bro.
@adrianmoore3118 that's what I've started doing tbh... it leaves a lovely shine and lasts well!! Probably still be naff in the rain though. And that bottle runs out quick when doing 2 layers lol
@DuhSimpleMan it was reliable, in that it started every single day... but a ton of things went wrong with it, and in the end I sold it for a massive loss. I wouldn't recommend a kia niro to anyone tbh. Hope this helps!
@@mountainbearoutdoors the stubby delkavic honestly sounded super meaty! I wouldn't advise the stubby if you start tye bike up early in the morning though, your neighbours will hate you lol
@phredbull ahh man, I bet you love the t5!! Can you add anything to the list I made...? Be you'd put performance in there somewhere! Got plenty more c30 content coming up, next up will be fitting a custom diffuser 😁😁 And then I'll be modifying the stock grille... Absolutely love this little car btw, I'm officially a volvo convert lol
@@TheChequeredFlagOriginal The T5 is very torque-y, plus the sound of the 5 pot is great, though the stock exhaust is so quiet. I think I need to get a sportier muffler. Overall, it's not the most luxurious, or the sportiest, but it does a fine job of balancing those 2. For me, it's perfect as a commuter/grocery-getter in a big city. Will be watching for your future vids...
Yea you gotta replace that quiet exhaust! I'll be getting a custom back box on mine, but will probably have to wait until early next year (super broke atm lol). Yea I reckon the whole c30 range is a good mix of a sporty/luxury, wrapped up in a wallet friendly package... Not a game changer in any way, more a jack of all trades. In a good way lol. That's ace! Plenty more c30 vids coming this way...
Good car, but bmw had to much plastic thing round the coolsystem. Thermostat house. PLASTIC and more. With steel their were no problems. But after the real mini, the nicest mini sinds now👌👍 I have a 2002 cooper and still New state👊let It shine, and not so dirty as on this video. It Will be a classiccar
@gsxrdave1974 hey buddy, this was in Leigh, near Manchester. Sadly this place shut down, and I'm not sure where the nearest place is now. I'm also from the wirral, and now race at wirral model car club (neston)
@@StephenHall-p9u unfortunately the mini went to the scrapyard in the sky 😭 I've since bought a volvo c30, which I will be lightly modifying instead. Sorry for the disappointment
@maynardlavery9258 yea I'll be investing in tyre gel in the future, along with some other more advanced cleaning/detailing products. For the money, I was actually quite impressed with the turtle wax tyre dressing though... Looked lovely and shiny when first applied, and held some kind of shine through a few rainy days. Not bad for £6.99
@@TheChequeredFlagOriginal The turtle wax tyre gel spray is very good until it rains/gets wet. Try sonax tyre gel,it works for me and lasts through rain has good depth of shine. 👍
@@TheChequeredFlagOriginal Again try sonax detailer spray in blue bottle, its Made in germany. Gyeon q2 is very good but can be expensive. My honest opinion is just wash your car and use a ceramic spray. Detailers are ok but im not convinced they are good for paintwork. Maybe onced car is washed use one for a quick shine but the moto is…if a jobs worth doing its worth doing well. I do like a good wax,im a bit old school. Lol. There are so many products on the market and of course technology has progressed but ya cant beat a good wax and sealant. 👌👍
@maynardlavery9258 nice one matey 👍 I've never used a wax tbh, always used polish or quick shine type products... Maybe I'll try a wax ontop of the polish next time I have a spare afternoon
@@TheChequeredFlagOriginal Yes i agree it isnt a Bad platform actually. It drives well enough. Its plenty fast enough when geared up a little . Even on grass just a grip roll , would break the wing, crack the body and bend a shock shaft and or a drive shaft. Its cheap to repair but its the frequency of repair that got to me. I sold mine .
@polltegrais6457 I think the petrol engines were ford engines (all the parts say they fit volvo 1.6 and ford focus 1.6 engines). Either way, I'm chuffed with the motor
@@TheChequeredFlagOriginal same engine just different name PSA/DV6-ford is literally the same engine So if you have Volvo that is under 2 litter is 100% the Peugeot/citroen engine Just google psa hdi
I'd say the mjx is a better all rounder in all honesty. It's faster, tougher, and seams better put together. But it is smaller. Also considerably cheaper
@TheChequeredFlagOriginal thanks for the honest feedback. I have a few mjx so parts are quite interchangeable. Guess if I got the FTX it would need a whole different set of spares too. I know their tracer is a tough beast but heard the carnage is more prone to breaking.
Nice car pal , iv just bought the rolling chassis but i think theres a part missing,?? The motor mounting clamp ?? The motor mount is here but i see no top brace clamp ?? Can you tell me where yours was mate ?
