As always, excellent thoughtful review. Just wondering what is your own racquet and string of choice, since you were close to changing. Thank you and I will keep watching.

Merci! Really appreciated this english version 🙏🏻 I'm testing it as I found the Gravity Tour too demanding for my level (I love to hit with it, but the ball I produce is not "heavy" and fast)

I have about 4 years of string tension / racquet “testing data” so I figured I’d share here. My kid’s been using poly since age 11 (not recommended) in a 100 size racquet at 305 grams average. Now she’s 15 and her technique has developed to where we want it (ATP style FH) with extended elbow at contact. For some reasons about a year ago we switched her tension from the usual 50M-48X to 48M - 52X (!) This was based on some “genius” recommendation….. 😊 Shortly after, she started complaining about “framing the balls” almost 70% of the time. So, being a good dad, I immediately blamed it on her technique lol! 😂 But then the issue wouldn’t go away so weve decided to take Super Slow Motion video of her strokes - from close distance and from behind my kid. Here’s what we found: out of 20-30 hits, 99% of the contact point were dead center, spot on! However, based on her technique (the notorious “windshield wiper”) we noticed the ball making contact on the string bed and just stay there while the racquet would roll up on the ball striking it with the frame. 😮. Concluding that, there was ZERO ball pocketing on the string bed…! So we switched racquet brands (wasn’t needed) and we went back to her old and tried tension setup but about 8lbs lower. So her current configuration is: Babolat Pure Strike 97 (2024) with various poly strung at 45M 41X (I would go about 1-2lbs higher in a 100 size frame) and the results are amazing! Great pocketing, great spin and no more “frames”. As a bonus and probably the most important part, no more wrist discomfort. Thanks for the upload by the way, I found it useful!

Great review. Thanks. Will try it out, because I like 645 inch and 18x20. I believe there is only one other racket like this, the Head Gravity Pro. Do you now how the Head compares to the Prince? I tried the Head Gravity Pro, but did not like single handed backhands with it, and it lacked power. Great for slices and flat shots though.

I have a Textreme Tour 100 that I love for its easy power and great feel off the ground, but I think the 100P might be more accurate for volleys, I'd love to try one to verify that.

Love your videos! Your review style is excellent and the More - Similar - Less power graphic is super helpful. How would you say this compares to the Extreme MP? They seem very similar. And if you could demo this alongside 2 other racquets, which would you choose (not including the Extreme MP, as I have access to one). Thanks again for you time. It is truly appreciated. Thank you. As I quickly said in the video, extreme mp heavier, harder to swing but just classic, boom mp especially easy to swing. Power similar and top spin also, maybe a bit more for the boom mp. Comfort similar.

Bonjour JP, always going back to your chanel because of the excellent reviews. Thinking of switching from my shift 300 to the boom mp or the boom pro. Also the aero 98 is a competitor. Which racket are you playing atm? How is your shoulder doing? Recently I have also shoulder problems and might need an operation too.

Hey ! Shoulder fine, I don't regret the surgery, in fact it allowed me to play again. If you have shoulder problems, go for comfort and easy power, easy to swing. Boom MP is fine, Yonex Vcore 100, Shift is fine also, Head Speed MP, Yonex Percept 100. Boom Pro yes but more demanding.

Does this racket offer the same level of comfort as the 2015 (1st) version? Or does it offer more comfort (wrist/elbow). In other words. Would it be worth buying the newest version if you want much more comfort? Of would it be not a big change and might as well stay with the 2015v ? Kind regards, Vince

Great review…I love this racquet at its stock weight…I played with Speed Pros for years at 336g-340g and my new Extreme Tours are 328g with an overgrip and dampener, I tried a few different weight setups up to 335g and just didn’t like it on this racquet as it took the fun whippy nature away..I’m quite strong and even though it sometimes feels a little light, I find this racquet powerful enough and stable enough to not have to compromise with its awesome manoeuvrability…I tried the New Speed Pro, Radical Pro, Gravity Pro, VCore Pro 97D, Ezone 98, Pure Aero 98, Pure Strike 18x20 and I liked the Extreme Tour more all round and especially on my single handed backhand

Hi. How do you see a relation between a tension and a stiffness of a racquet? For instance I play 320 g Vcore Pro 97, 18/20 - very soft / flex frame, Yonex Poly Tour Pro.
@team-tennisenglish1514
@team-tennisenglish1514 6 месяцев назад
There are so many personal feelings in tennis that I'd give no rule for this relation. But if you combine soft frame and high tension, you'll decrease power even more. Rigid frame+low tension should give more power.

Great review. So detailed and well expressed on how this racket performs. A very trustworthy and reliable video to know what the racket is about. Great and exceptional how the racket is put into words. I love the comparison table , where you compare it to other frames in terms of power. You provide so many details in order to get a broad idea about what this racket is all about in total.

First, wonderful review Jean-Pierre. I use the TeXtreme Tour 100P Ltd. I believe my racquet has an ever so slight added thickness to match Lucas Pouille actual specs. But just a word about your reference to using the previous model. I can tell by the throat of your racquet being all black you were using the 2015 model and not the previous 2019 version, which has a faded camo look. Your 2015 version was a 62 stiffness the 2019 was 66. My Ltd. all white version is also a bit more stiff, I'm guessing it's from the added thickness. Thanks for all your great videos Jean-Pierre. Love your BACKHAND!!

I bought this 5-6wks ago and found it too unstable until I added a leather grip. Plays unbelievable now. Once I buy another then I’ll try again with the synthetic grip and weight up the handle alternatively to see if I can get it playing even better. I was using the pure drive 98 after switching from the vcore 98 but after altering my FH after one of my lessons, my wrist went sore, so used that opportunity to search for something easier on my arm.

Excellent review. I have the exact same experiences. You have to hold your technique late in a match to stay competitive. I would suggest switching to the Babolat pure aero or try the Wilson shift for late in the match; especially if you feel weaker and need more spin out of ageing tennis balls.
