My channel aims to spread awareness about blindness and provide tips and skills that can benefit the blind community.
I work as a Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist (COMS). I teach people who are blind and visually impaired the skills to be as independent as possible when navigating their environment. I'm expanding my ability to help others by getting certified as a vision rehabilitation therapist.
My personal vision loss story due to a rare eye disease called Coat's disease has led me down this path. Due to the disease, I lost almost all my vision in one eye.
One time I stumbled across a video about what blind people see and I thought it was pitch black but then blind people can't see anything including colours, so it makes me think, WHAT IS NOTHING?
Can a sighted person learn Braille? When I was 5 I was in a foster home and, the older girl that was in the family was blind. I was always curious about learning braille as I used to to watch her doing her homework. She also played the piano too. This was in Levittown Pa in 1962 her name was Nancy. I wonder where she is?
imagine someone pure evil marking every bill they own with braille but it's all wrong so that by chance maybe a blind person could get confused because of this
Unsure if it’s true, but I’ve heard someone say something about how “blindness” (as in 100% blind) isn’ like seeing black, it’s like trying to see through your elbow. You don’t see black through your elbow, you just don’t see. Don’t know if it’s true or not, but I thought it was something interesting to think about
Aww 😢 That’s sad :(. But thank you for this video, now we can understand people’s lifestyle better! And help them! I am a cashier, and have a frequent customer, who says she has glaucoma. Now I know what it’s like for her.
no its not a misconception, its just a term used differently in the medical field, many words are totally different to what their term means in a specific field, when I say someone is blind i mean the total dark blind I never mean these type of people you described, I say they have eye problems, they cant see well
I got checked a few years ago and the Doctor said something about how I could develop glaucoma if I wasn't careful but said it so nonchalantly and quick that I barely registered it until I was already out of there. It's a terrifying idea since my one true passion is art...
I am blind because of nerve damage caused by a neurological condition. For me, it's lqck of peripheral in both eyes but at different degrees. My right eye is the worse
Come on America it’s 2024! Why the F isn’t braille or a tactile indicator included in the note in the first place? Yank money, same size and same colour freakin nightmare for the visual impaired.
Most other countries just have different sized notes... they're different sizes and different colours. It amazes me how far behind the USA is, whilst still making such loud noises about inclusivity and equality.
