Amazon has said once they get a show up and filming they want to close up the stories of sgu and sga. They said it may take a while to get the show going ut they are in it 100%.
Such an easy decision to make; exploring the universe, deeper understanding of existence, and the sheer adventure of it all through adversity. Kinda beats what's going on currently, I wouldn't be going 'home'.
Oh no, I've forgotten the awful shaky-camera style they often used in SGU,.. My guess is that it's down to the 'editor' in post-production that thought shaky-cam and wibbly-wobbly POVs was the way to go.. (SG-1 and ATL had other 'editors' though SG-1, ATL and SGU had same and/or recurring EP's/producers, such that I assume it's the 'editor' or 'editors' that worked the scenes in post that is the reason)
They should have just threatened McKay with a citrus, and he would have figured out the mystery and finished Destiny's mission within one, max two episodes.
Its really fucking sad that weve already met beings that know the answer and their answer when we ask it they say “youre not ready” or “you need to get the answer yourselves”
The show had potential, but it was ruined by the ridiculous communication stones and the terrorist raid at the end of season 1. These elements completely destroyed the sense of being lost in an unknown region of space, millions and millions light years away from Earth, when the main characters could magically swap bodies with people on Earth (for boring filler episodes by the way) and visit their friends and family... or when some rogue Milky Way organization can just use the Stargate to attack the ship at any time. For me, this show should've cut all ties with the whole Milky Way, the moments the characters stepped foot on Destiny and just focus entirely on survival, exploration of the unknown, the alien race that was chasing the ship, and the mysterious structures discovered in some of the planets visited by the crew. Atlantis did a way better job at this, with the only exception that the characters weren't lost, and they obviously couldn't cut ties with the Milky Way entirely, because Earth ships could still travel the distance.
I really wish Stargate went the way of Trek in terms of continuing TV stories through books. I would love to read a book series about how this all ends in the event that this show never gets resolved
Astrophysicist Sir Roger Penrose speculates about this. A hyper civilisation transmitting a message from one Universe to other at the Big Crunch by hiding communication in the subsequent big bang. And of course it's found in Hellenic philosophy then subsequently Christianity as the Logos. C.S.Lewis has Aslan singing Narnia into existence.
I love this character. He sees himself so far above everyone else. And he should remain so. Hyper competent, and completely uncaring about those he uses.
I’m rewatching SGU and I would never have asked for suffocation. That’s a slow, extremely unpleasant way to die. Just shoot me in the head and be done with it.
People who hated on SGU are the same nerds who couldn't handle Deep Space Nine when it came out because they hate change. Of course, if SG were to be rebooted today it would be a writing clusterfuck just like new star trek

The plot of this show was about the show itself. A ship (like the series) was on its way towards a great, unknown goal, with characters thrown into an unknown environment (like the viewers). In Season 2, the hostile drones represented Syfy's TV executives trying to cancel Destiny without reason or purpose. When they developed shields for Destiny, the hostile drones flung themselves into the ship still damaging it. The characters in the end became suspended, not knowing what the future held, just like the viewers. The more you think about this show, the more you realise how it represented what was happening to the show itself.
The ancients are the first version of humanity. They built the ship. They ascended to a level where they can observe and influence what happens. They created the humanity we see. In other words they are the writers. And the viewers. The plot of the show is to find out the story piece by piece. The ship was launched long ago with the original movie. The story has been suspended for now until eventually it gets reawakened and eventually the full meaning of the stargate universe is revealed. It is their destiny.
My own theory is about destiny is sort of like one of it's episodes. In the end they travel back in time to seed the universe and become the ancients. They are the ones that plant the signal. There is no second evolution. Which also leads reason as to why the ascended ancients have a hands off policy.
