So interesting these are so loved here in the US and this version was not available here. What an incredible interior and all the other differences wow. I wish I could buy these seats!!
I just bought a 1998 myself about a week ago, probably overpaid but it has very low miles and is in great conditon and I plan on it to be one of my forever cars so didn't really matter. Never even heard of the Orvis edition, it must be extremely rare -looks great.
Another review from an under age driver of the 90s' Just when did you pass your test? Are you qualified to make objective comments about a car that arrived in the UK in mid 1990s? Just how did it compare back then ?
Good video, that's exactly what i have-2000 Orvis 4.0, did lots of work on it and i'm proud to say i pretty much restored this lovely car to it's former glory
Excellent review. I love the XJ. Wanted one ever since I was ten when I saw the opening scene from the Goonies movie as a boy. Wish I could find one as immaculate as yours. This was a landmark model and arguably created the compact SUV market. Well done!
Thank you for the kind comment!! It was my old man’s car, he’s sold it now unfortunately. I told him to keep it but there we go. I now have a 1995 Nissan Patrol Y60. I’d like to do a video on that also when I get chance :)
HEY.... your steering wheel is on the wrong side, has it been in a terrible accident? 😂 Got a '99 Classic myself. Bought it in 2001 with 11,xxx miles on the clock. 375,xxx miles on ot now. STILL runs like the day I bought it. BEST vehicle I have ever owned. 😎👍
Not sure if you guys cares but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all of the new movies on instaflixxer. I've been watching with my girlfriend for the last weeks =)
Should be coming soon! Just finishing up with my degree at the moment which is taking up all my time. I’d rather wait and do it properly instead of rushing it and throwing it out. Thanks for waiting :)
Great vehicle to start a new channel with. Here in the states, these were common family cars in their day. Then they became the reliable old beater that people gave to their teenagers as a first car. Now, good ones are hard to find. I picked mine up a couple of years ago. It was clean, but I had to pay $10k US for it. Don't regret it at all. It has become a fun overlander for my family.
I wish americans did the same with the jeep xj as the germans did with the mercedes gelandewagen keep the old chassis and make it modern in and outside
Thank you so much. I have been an XJ fan since the 90s. I did not know there was an Orvis package on the XJ, even if it was just a UK thing. Do you know if the Orvis was available on the 2 door models there? Your comments on the steering makes me think it might have quite a bit of mileage on it, and just worn.. .. A fresh steering definitely does not feel "dead". Probably time for a refresh with some ZJ V8 components. The door click is from the detent, not the hinge. Again thank you, great video. Subscriber number 70!
Great video. I’ve got a very clean XJ with the VM engine. It’s fine except it is very difficult to find parts for, for this reason I wish I had bought a 4L.
Love the fact that you get XJ for your first video here! haha I got one from 1991 XJ Limited (@jeep.cherokee.xj that's my IG for it), it's in pretty good condition and I fully agree with you on these arguments. I like your style of reviewing a car. Subscribed!
Great video, i subscribed. at 03:01 to the left of your left arm, you seem to have some storage container. Was that an orvis feature? looks very oem. Any reference to this would be most helpful. Thanks again
Hey Joel! What is at the bottom of the center console? Underneath the switches and power outlets there seems to be something extra that we never got in the US! Thanks!
