At Bombardier, we design, build and maintain the world’s peak-performing aircraft for the world’s most discerning people. That means not simply exceeding standards, but understanding customers well enough to anticipate their unspoken needs.
Because leaders who shape the world will always need the most productive and responsible ways to move through it.
As someone who has been to the previous location at Downsview Park, I've always felt that the new location at the airport can catalyze and enable a Canadian ecosystem of A&D companies, whether public or private.

I would recommend reading this NASA report and recovery modes for Blended Wing Body aircraft. Firstly, they identified that it was only possible to spin it with specific mass configurations that were pro-spin, and even then only if pro-spin control inputs were given. So you have to intentionally spin the aircraft, which can easily be mitigated by fly-by-wire systems preventing such inputs. Secondly, while control inputs had trouble recovering, spin recovery chutes proved very effective. So it's hardly an unrecoverable position. overall they stated "To date no BWB flight dynamics “show stoppers” have been identified from these tests and the associated analyses." ntrs.nasa.gov/api/citations/20090007690/downloads/20090007690.pdf
Great, but it’s as if this was conceived in 2012- long before anyone could foresee the rapid acceleration of battery efficiency & chemistry diversification. They’ve just finally created batteries light enough for fully electric aircraft, a few months ago. Which will only be more efficient overtime, aided with solar which is also rising in efficiency. Why would you want to be tied down by a liquid fuel, no matter how renewable. You need to transport that fuel/refuel, when an electric jet could even partially Regenerate electricity using the propellers similar to how an EV uses braking/gravity to recoup electricity to extend range. Megawatt charging wouldn’t take longer than 30-40min max
Does reducing power needed to propel the craft through the air, allowing smaller engines mean longer takeoffs (less powerful engines will accelerate the craft's mass more slowly from rest), or does this design also reduce takeoff speed? Perhaps in this market segment, there is already runway to spare?
