As an 85 year old who has led an active life as a single mother and in the professional world, I'm still active but with serious health issues that require a lot of rest. I'd read the series Thorn and Roses and started on the Throne of Glass in audible. I've been so grateful for these wonderful books because they've helped fill my downtime with exciting adventures instead of grief because I can't do what I always have. Thank you very much. Don't listen to the nay sayers. Jealousy runs the corridors of their weak unimaginative minds.
East India Company didn't snatch India from Mughal Empire, They snatched India from Marathas (Followers of Shivaji). Marathas have been controlling whole India and they left Delhi for a Mughal Ruler who were giving Tex to Marathas for his own security.
It's again disservice to Indian ancestors to buy this book. Indians know British loot better than brit selling book. Indians should remove this mentality to get brainwashing by decedent or beneficiary of loot.
I am reading the book, and loving it. One of the book's features that makes it different (and I particularly love that) is the great number of common people she quotes, and particularly enjoyable for me, as a Diary keeper, the number of Diaries entries and Memoirs she reproduces, sometimes quite extensively. That gives the book a unique flavour - and she mentions that on the video.
As soon as the christians and jews took over and destroyed Rome, they were trying to upend the old understanding of the universe. The Romans knew the size and shape of the Earth and the moon and the distance between them. Constantine's - literally the FIRST christian (false) emperor of Rome (who wasn't Roman) - main adviser Lactantius (who also wasn't Roman) was a VERY vocal flat Earther. From that time through until the 1500s at least there were *STILL* debates about whether the Earth was flat or not. That's why there's so much conflicting information on the subject. People knew the Earth was a sphere, but christian dogma wouldn't allow it. Christians have spent decades trying to cover up this inconvenient little fact (along with the fact they torched almost all of Europe's manuscripts) for decades, constantly claiming this was all fiction - some even claiming christians were the ones that discovered these truths.
Just finished the book. Really enjoyed it. So clever in how Ned has put it together using just the film as his starting point. World history, local history and cycling history all linking back to one rider. Definitely going to try and attend one of Neds one man shows if any are due ?
Wow. For a book i couldnt even get through because of its tropiness and paper-thin character depths, you sure didnt surprise me on where your inspiration came from. Another beauty and the beast arc? Who knew?
Yes Princess Mononoke is amazing But also Howl's moving castle.. 😊 when Howl's first words upon meeting Sophie are "There you are, sweetheart, sorry I'm late. I was looking everywhere for you," it isn't just a ruse to get her away from the soldiers. He has actually been looking for her all this time...
I absolutely everything Micheal moorcock & Alan Moore. Conversely I absolutely loath everything c s Lewis and hate narnia with an unrelenting passion. I’ve been reading everything Neil (nice guy btw) since the 80s but I think this squares my issues with certain things in his writing, when I have them.
