Thanks for the memorable vid! We did this vacation flight many times via Atlanta from Portland, OR to see the folks and bro's. Was always so excited to land on the shared runway with Eglin AFB and see Mom and Dad who were excitedly waiting at the terminal for us! That was long ago now, with Dad's passing coming up on 20 years and 10 years for Mom, but those memories will never ever fade. Haven't been back since Mom passed to see my bro's but I need to do that - and this vid is inspiring me to do so!

i remember when southern flew here in the 60s at the old terminal otherside of eglin, no bigger than a doublewide trailer , later became republic airlines after they just built the new terminal fwb always had people flying out, always busy

I definitely suggest 2 hours early. TSA were extremely slow. Our plane was held up for 15 minutes because passengers were still being cleared. Yes I was there 2 hours early. Problem was they didn’t have enough agents for the number of people coming through.

When I landed there it seemed like we rode in the plane for miles to get to the terminal. A girl in front of me asked where was the airport? I told her they take us to the beach and let us off. Got a few laughs 😂

The Weather is beautiful today, the water clear and blue, not too hot, not too cold outside, October is truly one of our most beautiful months here on the Emerald Coast, too bad no one from Knoxville can fly in to see it. Nope they can only enjoy our beach and hotel rooms in the summer, and if you wanted to go to Pigeon Forge to see the leaves turn, you will just have to drive, like I did, last week. What a shame that Allegiant couldn't make their Knoxville flights to VPS year round.
