Edinburgh is in Scotland lol. Ehrenburg is pronounced. Erin- berg. it's still too hot to be out there, 111° is murder. Not sure how those nomads can stay at the LTVA's in September.
Lived there 7 years...most dont know there are two wineries one on each end of town...nice place to relax. Adobe Deli (supposedly haunted) is a strange rambling ranch house off Lewis Flats road 10 miles out of town. Great bar...dark, food OK,interesting collection of oddities. We would go there after work. No ghosties though
I had lots of interesting times in Big Spring in 1972. Was there a little over a year in pilot training at Webb. I was sad it closed. It was a great area and weather for pilot training.
It has been extremely hot out there in Az. Safe travels God bless. Don't let our Levi get too hot. It is so easy for a dog to get heat stroke. 🙏🙏🙏🐕🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Just reminiscing ! I was there from 1980 -82 and was kicked out because the Superintendent never thought i was gonna reach level 5 to be eligible for release ! The highest level i ever reached was 2 and never made it past that for being a rascal ! I even still have a couple pictures of me while there which i still have ! Even though it's a non fenced facility , but escape wouldn't get you too far because they had a special tracker / runner who would give you an hour head start and still catch up to you ! I tried it twice and the farthest i got was Odessa tx and i still had a couple hundred miles to get to SA,TX . Imagine that ! Ive thought of somehow volunteering my time to counsel some of the newer generation but it's only been a thought so far ! Im almost 60 and look back at all of the things i avoided after i got out to keep me from going to prison and thank God i never landed with the big boys because if i would have i probably would have been stuck in the prison system for a lot of years just for being a rascal !
I remember many years ago on a national TV news program, Muleshoe was pronounced Mew-Lay-Show by the clueless announcer ... it couldn't possibly be something as mundane as "mule shoe".
Calvert had five cotton gins. Calvert contributed three major Military figures to WWII. That building with the columns was a dentist office when we lived there. The city hall was on the right across the rail road tracks. The big filling station on the right was Cooper Wiess's place. The town you drover through nine miles before Calvert is Hearn: as you noticed if you dove through it. Happy motoring.
