It is common for establishments to go above and beyond when they see a camera, they often do offer some of their dishes on the house for more exposure in the review, we do PAY for all our meals. Meals are offered on the house, some do not, that does not affect the outcome of the reviews. Negative reviews do not mean never to visit a restaurant, it is done for establishments to improve and get some constructive feedback.

They lost me at "halaal friendly". I am sure their food is great but as a Muslim a would prefer not to dine at a place that serves alcohol. This is Cape Town. We are spoiled for choice. There are numerous other places l can try that are halaal certified. The concept of "halaal friendly" is a misnomer especially in a Capetonian context.
I fully understand what you mean.If they don't serve wine/alcohol that would cut out many people that would prefer to have a glass of wine when dining out which would cost them business and it won't be very inclusive to some tho they try by making Halaal friendly. It is a pity that this would be a factor as to why many people do not eat here. The food is amazing.

This is what happens when then kitchen staff have no connection to the cuisine they are preparing ,this was clearly the owners concept and the chef an after thought

@@788surfer I believe they are, if they are slaughtered in line with the Islamic injunctions, if not, don't eat it. If you want to try, call and find out if they are halal. I should have but did not find out.
