Yes, very nice, indeed. Wonderful choice of subject. Superb image framing, exposure and quality. I'm excited as I, like @rmikemaloney, am starting my first project with the original BMCC 2.5K EF, which I purchased in 2014 and never used until now. Just picked up a Sigma 35mm f1.4 to add to my original Tokina 11-16mm f2.8. My background isn't photography or videography, so there's so much to learn!
Sorry for the late reply, even though we shoot with the Blackmagic Pocket cinema camera 4k and 6k for paid work. The 2.5k is an excellent we used to shoot in our free time the original color science is amazing. We use the tokina 11-16mm a fair amount but the 2.5k is mainly our vintage lens camera. Hopefully when the temperature warms up we will have more videos with the camera.
My absolute pleasure your journey will be a fun one, I recommend trying out some cheap vintage glass to try your hands at different focal lengths before you buy or rent expensive lenses. If you make a video using it, let me know
If you still have this camera let me blow your mind. Shoot in 2.5 RAW, edit in 4k color managed timeline, and export in 4k prores lt. You'll be blown away. Also do not use any LUT. Simply input the color space as BMD Film and let the color managed timeline transform the image to output color space (rec.709). Timeline colorspace should be rec.709 aswell.
Thank you for the advice, I still use the 2.5k but I’ve added the original bmpcc and a few 4ks plus a 6k to my lineup. I’m getting the hang of the color grading aspect. Your tip definitely worked well with the cinemadng of the original. Thank you , Cheers and happy shooting.
@@MotionBirdMediaLLC this camera doesn't actually need much color grading. All it requires is to fix the expose and contrast in post and it will look awesome! And also I made a mistake earlier. Timeline colorspace should be Davinci WG/Davinci Intermediate and the output should be rec.709/rec.709. That should give you the best results. You can of course try ACES but that might get too complicated. ACES gives me the best results but its a bit finnicky
@@MotionBirdMediaLLC By the way i watched your engagement video. Could it be possible to send me the original braw or prores clip @0:19. I'd really love to color grade that shot since its beautifully shot
Hello there, I have a pretty large vintage lens collection and some aren’t as popular as the Helios 44-2 just like the Fujinon. I just bought a Blackmagic 2.5k cinema camera and I will be adapting vintage lenses to it. The video I will be posting today I will be using this exact lens. There’s more to come! Have a great day
Too edited. Not an accurate representation of the quality you get from this lens. You're actually doing it a disservice if you classify this as a 'Review'
