Thank you Mr. Weinstein for opening minds. Was bummed not getting to the ufo/uap stuff watching 3rd JRE appearance, but, found your framework more interesting than the topic. What do you think of Wolfram's recent claim of coming to an understanding of quantum dynamics?

This is one of my favorite movies. It's one of those movies that makes you feel good, but a little melancholy. For me I think it's because I lived through those times, born in 1956 and it takes me back to easier times but there was definitely prejudice all around me but my folks were awesome and raised us treating all equally. Just love, love, love this movie.

And all the worry that the American people, of all races, would not accept this film was for nothing. Good American people by the millions accepted it and LOVED IT then and do now. We should applaud that as much as we do the makers of the film.

so much truth in these messages regardless of your religion, this is what Americans need right now, new Americans, old Americans, Republican or Democrat. We are all Americans and should put Americans people first in our trust and faith and let the politicians earn it before we give it to them.

I was 21 Sept. 15, 1967 and I am now 77 years old. I loved that picture and would watch it several times over the course of several decades. In fact, I just watched it on RU-vid a couple of days ago and I still love it. I was raised by my grandparents who experienced the Depression. My grandmother took me to various musicals and took me to see the Rockettes every Christmas. They told stories of how my grandfather drove a Coal truck during the Depression and my grandmother was a housewife but then later on went back to school and became a Therapist and got a Nursing License as well. They were fortunate because they were able to get sugar and coal for heat. My Grandfather later on became a very gifted Carpenter and worked with a good friend building very well made houses. My Grandfather's favorite actress was Mary Pickford and my Grandmother liked Mickey Rooney and so I'm very familiar with Yankee Doodle Dandy among other notable projects Mickey Rooney was in. I watch Korean and Chinese dramas with English sub-titles on various platforms with the help of the Internet. I'm so very grateful for the making of this film as it was very well written and directed and all the actors and actresses were well thought of for their characters in this film.

I was 18. How well I remember the tension and prejudice, especially being a southerner. Christina's kiss-off scene with her obnoxious, nosy employee and Matt's speech at the end are each impeccable. My humble opinion is that this is possibly and arguably the best thing Hollywood ever released.

I have seen this film many times, and the acting has touched me to my core every time. The final scene in the film, to me, is a confession by Tracy to Hepburn. The love and tears in her eyes displayed the raw truth of how these two actors felt for each other. This brilliant film sent a powerful message to humanity.

Special? You could say that. Miss Butch Hepburn was a notorious skirt chaser. "Spansa" was fond of the boys. They played beards for each other for years. Didn't it bother you that she always wore pants and had no children or husband? She used the biggest pimp in Hollywood to procure her girls.Tracy was hardly a sexpot, not the kind of man you breathe heavy for. Their on-screen non-sexuality together meshed wonderfully. They cancelled each other out. Never heard one person say they wanted to jump his bones, or plow her north-40.

Please educate yourself before leaving these kind of comments. Katharine Hepburn was married from 1928 until September 1942 when her divorce was finalized in the US. It's not because a woman doesn't have children that she's not straight. Not everyone chooses to be a mother. I have been researching for years and I've yet to come across any evidence for what you're saying. In fact, I had access to the love letters Katharine Hepburn wrote to Howard Hughes and these point to the contrary. If you want to read a trustworthy, well-researched biography on Spencer Tracy, I recommend James Curtis' book. Also, if you don't like them, why search for videos just to leave vile comments...

Where he said to his Dad "You see yourself as a colored man. I see myself as a man." Well that didn't age well into 2024 thanks to obama and the democrats. They always will see a colored man as a colored man and will expect the colored man to remain on their political plantation.

Hello - I am currently working on a BBC audio podcast about the Hollywood 10 and my colleague is keen to use a clip of Katharine's speech that features here. I was wondering if you knew where this recording came from or who owns the copyright? thanks, Stuart
@stepsgeek
@stepsgeek 6 месяцев назад
Hi, I don't know if there's still copyright on this, but the recording was released by the Progressive Citizens of America in 1947 but this association was dissolved in 1948. Please feel free to contact me if you want more background information, I talked about this speech for the Katharine Hepburn cultural arts center recently.

To think bigotry is at higher levels in our country than in '67 is heartbreaking... and it's been ramping up since 2016. Not difficult to do the math.

When I first heard about the movie's theme I said how ridiculous. Making such a big hullabaloo about a black man marrying a white woman. Why my people do that all the time and nobody makes an issue over it. That is so silly. Then I remembered that I was not living back home but in a country whose racial prejudice goes back to its founding. And who in 1967 was in the midst of one of its most epic struggles. I then remembered the comments that white Americans made against blacks. And the horror that befell upon Sammy Davis Jr. when he dared marry a white woman. I am an old woman so I've seen a lot. I remember the 6 o'clock news and how it showed dogs being thrown against young men and women for the crime of fighting for their rights. I remember fire hoses sweeping men and women off the streets and being hurled onto buildings, cars and sidewalks for the same offense. Every day it was the same. Human beings taking a beating for the same crimes. For daring to fight for their humanity. Then comes a beautiful story that challenges long held views, and "stupid fears". Never tire of seeing this wonderful film.

It's interesting that the first woman which came to his mind was Vivien Leigh...I think she would've done so well in the role.. it could've been her third Oscar.

From the first time I saw this movie years ago , to this very day , this has and will remain my favorite movie ever . We see three of the greatest actors of all time coming together in a brilliant movie , in every aspect . I want to see a video of how Katherine Hepburn paid for the insurance herself when they could not insure Mr Tracy. That's love !!!

Many people feel that Bette Davis deserved the 1962 Best Actress Oscar for “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?” I don’t for a minute deny the brilliance of that performance, but my own vote would have gone to Hepburn for “Long Day’s Journey into Night” - an astonishing performance that raises acting to Olympian heights.

Lovely documentary for a super lovely movie with a super super cast! Watching it is entering the scenes, interacting with these stars, walking through the house. More, can anyone of You who happen to read these lines, tell me the title of the sweet, romantic, tune of the soundtrack that we briefly hear at the ice-cream/burghy parlor where "Spence" (Kathy used to call him so) is having an ice-cream? Thanks in advance. It's not the drive, rock's roll, it's the slow one that comes before it.
