Christmas looks like a very beautiful time of year to take this cruise. We are taking it in March 2025. There is so overlap with some of the stops we did on the Grand European cruise, such as Koblenz and the Marksburg Castle. I hope we don’t have another meal inside the Marksburg Castle.

We did this cruise in the summer a few years ago and it was spectacular. Can't say enough about all the ports and the itinerary. We stayed over in Paris 2 nights before the cruise and a night in Zurich after we did the Alps excursion. It's bucket list yall!!!!
Great pictures. We did the Rhine as well Amsterdam to Basel and say all the Christas markets 4 years ago. June 2022 we are going to due the ocean cruise Into the Midnight Sun! Thanks for sharing!

Very insightful. I will download and use this video as reference. Just one question, can a normal SUV get to most of the campsites or does one need a 4x4?
Thato Ngwenya you only need a normal car. A 4x4 is not necessary. Most of the roads are sealed and the dirt roads are in good condition. Hope this helps. Mark

I went in Dec for the Christmas markets...wonderful. Talked with 3 college men in Passau in the cold and damp...for 2 hrs! They had never met an American before,and had lots of questions! Had a wonderful time,shopping, drinking hot chocolate...Viking was so wonderful, we booked Christmas on Christmas the Rhine for the next year....
