I have fast copy speeds between my unRaid samba share and my MacBook Pro Apple silicon. My issue is Mac keeps dropping the smb share, and I have to keep re-mounting. I see other people have complained about my issue as well. Any thoughts ?

Can 2006 Mac Pro be a NAS? Are there any other details that I need to do for this specific Mac Pro?
@North3rdMedia
@North3rdMedia 12 дней назад
@@mattsickon6265 no reason it shouldn’t work. I do not have a 2006. I would try installing a test version of UnRaid and see how that goes. I have some later videos on how I got on. If you can see your 2006 with the MacOS you have installed ATM and see it’s shared drives from another Mac I think you would good to go.

Thank you so much for this video! I purchased this backpack for the same reason in mind: riding a normal mountain bike, I needed a proper solution for my DJI Mini 4 pro. When it arrived, I immediately saw the issue with the water bladder. I was wondering whether there is a better idea than cutting a hole into the backpack, but I realize that I will have to do it probably in the same way you did.

Wide angle lenses, like gopros, are not optimal for 3D (unless its VR180). It would be easier to use Vegas for editing since it has built in 3D support. 28 mm separation is very small. Works well with closeups/indoor shooting. But for any other situation you need more separation. Human eyes can see depth effectively to about 15 meters. After that it diminishes very rapidly. So I would recomend a separation of 65mm. Building your own rig is obviously satisfying and a learning experience. For someone who just wants to shoot, a qoocam ego, weeview sid or a second hand fujifilm W3 is probably a better option.

FYI you can not backup your usb stick to save your license! the license is tire3d to the stick itself. MyUnraid service has a USB stick backup and a license management tool.
@HarbAlarm
@HarbAlarm 4 месяца назад
This is partially correct. You can back up the stick so you don't lose your configuration and if the drive breaks you can move your license over to a new one. Search for "Unraid Changing the flash device" to get the wiki entry about it.

Wauw very cool to have a peer review of our products! I'm quite amazed by how much you went in the technical details of the design and intent of all the features. Sometimes it's a bit hard to communicate all the design features, but you really got it spot on! We are very glad to hear that the tapered part is to your liking. It is often a bit of an educated guess for the proportions, but it's something we are looking into for future developments. btw Mathew does not have dissociative identity disorder😂. Using an FTP client is an interesting idea. I tried mine and it worked much better than Samba indeed - Transmit if you care. Been using and loving it for years, I think it's the best on Mac or actually in general. Been evaluating unraid on my 5,1 Mac Pro for a few days as well and as much as I'd like to love it, the performance so far has been underwhelming. Copying some 30 GB of images (RAW + jpeg) directly on console from an SSD to a single drive array, I get horrible 31 mb/s avg (it took 15 mins!!) Bottleneck appears to be the array itself (FUSE people say it is) … if I move the drive to a pool, my write speed goes way up and it also improves my Samba performance. In fact, I'm getting some 121 Mb/s constantly for a 32 GB file from my Mac on 1 GBit. Now that seems a bit pointless to me, as the flexible array is the main selling point of unraid but with 31 Mb/s it's just unusable. :( On my way to evaluate an ZFS zraid pool now and if that does not work, I might try SoftRAID on Mac OS … after all, the best Samba performance is Mac to Mac

@@North3rdMediaHi, I think this is what Green oil use, they use T-NOC in their literature. Glycerol is a Triglyceride hence the T, I think the NOC is Nitrogen, Oxygen and Carbon from the Olive pomace. Another thing you can do is add the liquid vegetable glycerol to chainsaw oil to thicken it.
@Pellagrah
@Pellagrah 2 месяца назад
I mean, if you're trying combine cycling and historical reenactment, this is a great idea. Otherwise, this is wildly inefficient. Vegetable oils don't have the film strength required to protect metal parts under load, so you'll wear out your chain very quickly. It's why we stopped using lard and olive oil back during steam engine times. If you want to go the eco-friendly route and avoid petrochemicals, I'd suggest using sunflower wax or beeswax instead. There's a really good lube that uses sunflower wax as its base.

I've had the same framebag, fitted to a Kona Unit X. It's a great bag, well build and well designed. I had it fitted to the bottle bosses. This make for a clean look, but also destroyed the waterproofness of the bag, so I wouldn't do that again...but the bag itself was just perfect! Loved the doubledecker insert, tentstraps and side pocket :)
@North3rdMedia
@North3rdMedia 5 месяцев назад
Out of interest how wide was the bag? You have a large triangle on that bike so also what the bag’s capacity in litres? What do you have now? :-)
@joeniepro
@joeniepro 5 месяцев назад
@@North3rdMedia I think it was about 6cm wide. It was indeed a large bag. Never gave it a thought how many litres it was. It was much larger than the 6 litre Ortlieb bag I have now. If I must guess it would be closer to 10 litres, maybe even more. I could fit a LOT af stuff in it :) Had all my repair stuff in the bottom half (sealant, tools, tubes, ty wraps, tape, chain links, pump, etc.) Tent poles in the straps, all of the food in the main compartment and 360 camera, selfysticks and minitripods in the side section for easy access. Did not us a watersystem, but used the hole in the front to route the wires from my batterypack to the bike computer. The only reason I sold the bag, is because I sold the bike ;)

@@North3rdMedia it's a 150mm. I notice whilst riding last night. Just had a nother look at it.. when I lift up the front of the bike by the handlbars up and down I notice a dropping noise or like something lose.. checked the rotor thats fine.. doing both brakes and trying to rock the bike back n forth is better the headset is fine.. doing this and reaching down to feel the metal rod ..(no idea what that is and I did see your vid but need to go back over your vid) the 5 mm hex removal tool took that rod out... it seems nice and firm so no idea what is going on with it

@@North3rdMedia Okay so that may be normal... rear axle no idea it is wider than my Hope 170mm so perhaps 180-90. I don't doing work on my forks and headset.. in the past it has been a struggle.. even now I am kinda slow getting to get replacement headset bearings so I go look on the ICAN official site and all I can find is "integrated H373" bearings but the google search engine comes up with a long line of pics showing bearings that do not have that number perhaps I have inherited a bike frame which is discontinued and only they made that specific type of thing... like you have to buy into us.. not sure yet but anyways in the past searching for bearings for headsets wihtout knowing specifically what you have is hard.. People will offer up "just get the bearings for the frame" but what if the bike is 2nd hand and they made all sorts of mods incl a different make of these bearings.. i will need to get round to it soon.. I ntoice brown water flowing down over the frame after a wash coming from the headset... and I keep oiling it....think google search engine needs to improve though.
