The video says that studs are preferred, yet the screws that come with the door are only 1-5/8". The thickness of the bottom rail bracket is about 1/2" + 1/2" tile and thinset + 1/2" backer board and you're at a total depth of 1-1/2", which means the provided screws won't reach the studs at all. Am I missing something? How was this not thought through?
Thank you for reaching out to us. The supplied screws are 1 5/8" long. Normally showers will have 1/4" tile and 1/4" backerboard. If your walls are thicker than this, you can always get longer screws from their neighborhood hardware store, Home Depot, or Lowes.
As a homeowner who didn't do the install, it's very confusing how to take the door back off if you need to work on the threshold. I've watched this video and the height-adjust video.
So if the sprayer is stuck and won't switch to stream, does that mean I have to replace the sprayer? Trying to take my sprayer apart to fix it but it looks pretty locked sealed.
😱 OMG, YES PLEASE, YES....MINE IS BAD, NOBODY WANTS TO COME AND VISIT ME. IN OCTOBER I BROKE BOTH OF MY ANKLES ON MY LEG , PENS, PLATES, SCREWS ITS PUT BACK TOGETHER. I EAS BED RIDEN FOR MONTHS TO LET IT HEAL. BUT .......BUT WITHIN 2 WEEKS LATER, MY BOYFRIEND OF 10 YEARS , UNEXPECTEDLY PASSED AWAY IN OUR BEDROOM.... SO KEEPING IT CLEAN OR DECORATING OR UP DATING WILL PROBABLY WANT HAPPEN CAUSE NOW ALL THE BILLS ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES. 😢
What type of cartridge do you buy to replace it? The video is one of the best I’ve seen, but basically WORTHLESS without part replacement info. Nor does your parts list have details part numbers for reorder. Jeeze 😢
This shower leaks through the hinges even though there are gaskets installed. I think I am missing some shims as well. I will call tech support to see if they can get me straightened out.
The instructions they give you and the instructions in this video really confuse me they tell you to make sure you have studs behind the wall for structural support and yet they give you wall anchors to screw into which one is it am I screwing into wood or am I screwing into the anchors doesn't make any sense
Your manual sucks, and the video didn't make things any clearer. In the manual, it shows the vertical rail mounted in the center of the shower curb, and gives no other indication of where to measure or place this rail...so I placed it in the center of the curb. Only now do I realize that this placement is wrong, and won't accommodate the floor brace, and now I'm going to have to re-drill holes for my vertical rail. Fix your instructions. This is unacceptable.
We bought a home and we think it has a Vigo faucet. We can’t tell for sure, but it has a small v in a circle at the base. It feels very nice and solid, so I assumed it was a Vigo. How can I tell?
What does replacing this cartridge do? When I try to use my spray handle the water cuts off. I have soaked the spray handle in a water, vinegar, lemon juice bath to remove mineral deposits.
I don't know how old your kids are. I think I would be too scared of not being able to reach small kids in time with the glass wall. It does work great for what you showed tho. and it looks fabulous
Hey guys the one thing confusing me is they give two sizes of drill bits for the rail to wall instation. one is with plastic anchors and the other is for attaching to studs. Im attaching to studs and was told by customer service, because instructions didnt say, that would use the larger drill bit size. that didnt make sense to me. So you would ust the smaller size bit to then insert an anchor plus the same screw? the logic isnt jiving. guess i may need to call again
Also 3/16 drill bit seems really small for the anchors to secure clips. I dont think the anchors will even go in a 3/16 hole much less then run a screw in it.
