Watching this and reading people saying stuff like "Human became monster and monster became human" still too Weird and very amusing😹😹 like They aren't Human and never felt or atleast think what happen to Gon☠️ It's more right said it like this: Monster became Human and Human showing the extreme negatives side of Humans😹😹😹
The girl in the middle was exactly my reaction when i saw this scene. I watched given in 2024 basically and was so glad i nvr got spoiled so ep9 was just a raw expereince. The girl in the middle just stayed silent, tears in eyes just completely moved by the song. It was how i felt. I was crying yet was unable to move my eyes away frm the performance. When Mafuyu strted singing, when the flashbacks appeared, when u realized that this is just a performance for the audience but for Mafuyu it was sth really special. U cudnt just help but feel really proud of him in this moment
Same experience in my case, I watched it this year as well, and I'm so so grateful that this episode never got spoiled for me. It was truly a masterpiece and I was crying in silence as well. This episode literally changed me and moved me in such a way that no anime has ever done I believe or at least in such a long time. I'd say the emotions I experienced was an intense mixture of: shocked, sadness, remorse, and relief. I'm saying this because I honestly really wasn't expecting much from Mafuyu considering the events in this episode but sorta knew he was going to sing but didn't expect it to really touch me as greatly as it did. The scenes of him and Yuki also broke piece by piece every single time a flashback happened or a tease, and especially the argument, and the follow-up with Mafuyu's scream into the mic. Remorse, because I felt really sorry for him and just the thought that it took him all this time to grieve if you really think about it. Finally, relief because Mafuyu finally expressed himself in such a way that was so intense, surprising, and healing for him considered he kept it inside for so long and it was keeping him from seeing everything he has been loving these past few months or so. Now he can move on positively, and become more open with those around him.
I watched this show a few times over as a teenager. Never before today…at 24 years, had I felt the emotional impact of this episode. I sobbed for an hour straight
