For a video walkthrough I was expecting an actual walkthrough not just a repost of pictures, for the future I would recommend getting a cameraman to just record and walk through.
Great how they never give you much detail., how much land? Well and septic or town services? How old furnace, Looks like at least $125,000 to bring it liveable.
So everyone seems concerned about an “outsider” moving in here. They apparently do NOT like out of state people. I don’t want to move anywhere I’m not welcomed…for any price. Maybe they are mostly struggling there instead?
I hear that but not everyone had the same opinion. We had seven offers, four of them over $700,000. I also work with buyers and it IS challenging to find the right place.
Beautiful home. Again, not a fan of the background music. Do you play that if I'm touring a house with you? I'm an intelligent, respectable person - just TALK to me as if I'm in front of you. I'm okay with pauses in the conversation. It comes with being human.
It's a lovely little place, but that price is ridiculous. The average Mainer couldn't afford that. That's geared for an out of state buyer thinking it's a bargain.
Maine is great in the summer, but summer is so short. Maine is too expensive for us native Mainers. We can’t afford to live in our own home state. Maine weather is harsh for most of the year. Like my Dad said to me, “You’re always preparing for winter.” That’s why my Dad and brother moved to Florida and my sister to N. Carolina. Us Mainers always live with winter in mind. So, I really can’t see why prices in Maine are so ridiculously high. Maine only has something to offer during the very short summer. I would say rent something in summer and don’t buy for a summer home.
I agree, I can't believe the prices for property up there, Not my dream destination anymore because of greedy people and they think that these prices are terrific 😡😡😡😡😡
interesting placement of the gas stove - I suppose, since it's such an old house - they actually used to cook hearth style - so the only place to put such an incredibly large stove/oven is right where it is - no worries - could adjust to it - I can imagine a big pot of soup simmering all day long - people taking bowls-full as wanted - wonderful - it might make the laundry smell like garlic 😝 but, hey, it's Maine - life is still worth living in Maine - no bathtub is a strong negative - there's room for s tub in that huge kitchen 😝 that's the way they did it back in the day 🍀 cheers 💐
It is not a dump. You must be a city boy. I'm guessing you like minimalism and grey, right? Probably a fan of Subway tiles? I see you have the obligatory beard, so you're a big time trends follower. This property is very nice, has a lot of heart, and will take not that much to be a beautiful home. They are asking, $300,000, but it will most likely go around $250,000ish.
@@nowthatmakesperfectsense I grew up in rural Indiana in a home built in the 1860's. All original and was very well taken care of. I'm an Interior Designer by trade. I've spent the last 30 years, as a hobby, collecting and restoring colonial Antiques. My dishes, rugs, paintings, drawings...I even have a Benginin Franklin lamp. So no, I'm not some trendy ciry dweller with a bad attitude. I'm a very knowledgeable person that has a beard because I'm Jewish. You are so far off about me and this house. A renovation of this property would bust the budget. It's way over priced for the date it is in. Dropped ceilings and pre-exsisting remodle damage and bastardizations. The seller thinks that have a jewl and they don't. It has a ton of potential but not at that seeling price. The cost of replacing original materials would be exorbitant. A plywood and press board renovation vs. Original restoration....its not worth it! Please don't assume you know me because you don't. Sales skills 101: know your customer and don't degrade them! It makes you look hateful and stupid and I don't think you are.
