During the last part of my stint in North Carolina, when I was desperate for all things Upstate NY, I looked up the recipe and made a grape pie -- sans lard in crust -- when our local farm stand had Concord grapes. I thought it came out delicious, but I've never had one from the Finger Lakes, so I'm not sure how accurate it was. Looking forward to seeing yours and what you think of it.
It was fun to see you do a video in the town that I call home. Glad you enjoyed your visit. We do have a lot of great 'food & drink' places. The festival has been going on for a very long time and everyone involved works very hard to make it happen. Hope you guys visit again someday, this area is beautiful year around.
I’ve never been to the grape festival but my very, very favorite waterfall is in Naples, NY. It’s Parish Glen and well worth the drive and effort to experience it!
@@FlyingRoadtrips I sense a potential spin-off channel! This one for the great times, that one for the...uh...other ones. And thank YOU for posting these journeys! :)
Ooooo we would love that! I haven't been to A Bay in ages, but I remember it being so pretty. We were definitely too full for ice cream this trip, but now that we know it's local, we're going to have to go! 😊
Happy Daz interior is exactly like this, but their prices are not as high and a waitress will bring the food out to us. However, our favorite is a 1920's hamburger place called KewPee and it too is a better price than your place and grounds it's own hamburger fresh every morning before opening. Simply delicious!
We took a look at the Happy Daz website- if we ever make it out that way, we're gonna have to go! Thanks for finding our video and tuning us into those places 🚗
@@genehunsinger3981 haha its the hilton of burger joints lol. I'd probably describe cardboard boxes as having a certain ambience too. Thanks for watchin'!
I know Rochester is known for its "plates," but it should be known for its burgers, too. The smash-style patties and hard rolls, they are so good. Charlie's, Wahl's, Bill Gray's, Don's Original and all the "hots" places, we've yet to find a bad one and so many more places to try. And they all seem to wrap them up the same.
Thank you so much for posting this and the Sylvan beach video! I live out of state and your videos help me stay connected to the area. I plan on visiting upstate in a couple weeks and I’m looking forward to visiting Will’s. It’s one of my favorite places to go during the Halloween season.
@FlyingRoadtrips - Thank you so much fior sharing this! I plan to go there to see / ride the carousels too with girlfriend. Wow six carousels! It is only two hours one way, Four hours round trip via car for me. The "Walking Distance" episode from Twilight Zone, 1959 with Gig Young is my all-time favorite TZ episode! I hear that it was Rod's too! Thanks for pointing out the specific carousel Rod played on as a child. WOW! Always have a box of tissues at hand watching this episode! Walking Distance truly is a MASTRERPIECE! The music score done by the master Bernard Herrmann does an awesome job setting all the emotions up with perfect timing - deeply. Would be so nice if they had the "Carousel" waltz from the 1956 movie by that name playing at some point on the carousels. A wonderful waltz. A must see movie to watch "Carousel" 1956 musical if you have not seen it. Could be copyright issues? Unsure. Take care ..... "that's walking distance ......" "Homewood..... about 1.5 miles ahead.' :) Always youthful at heart. Semper Fi USMC '75 - '81 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
It'd be a good time to visit now- even if the carousels don't re-open until spring- Binghamton just dedicated a statue of Rod Serling in Recreation Park- from pictures, it's well done. Two hours isn't bad to spend a day checking out carousels, i'd say! It's been a while since we've watched Carousel. Seems like a good thing to do again.... Thanks so much for finding our video- be sure to check Binghamton's Parks site to make sure the carousels are open before you head out. Take care & Thank you!
Great video as always! I’m speculating that the person who came through the store just before you couldn’t find what they were looking for, flipped out and started throwing shoes 😅
love Becky's shirt and that witches hat chip tray would be perfect for a halloween party. also Phantom is my favorite musical and got excited when Becky mentioned it
I have it on good authority that Flying Roadtrips will go down the Halloween Mountain Coaster at @GreekPeak if 5 people like this comment! Let’s make it happen people!
There's so many great pumpkin places to see this one is awesome so is the Cicero pumkin patch, I want to go to pumpkin Junction again when the monster truck school bus ride is working. Trey did love the castle here and animals
When talking about the end of the Bettelguse drink, did you say “second drink” like Pam said in the infamous chilis episode?! Another awesome reference 🎉
