I spent 40 years wearing the badge. I had my share of injuries that eventually end my career before I was ready. After I retired, my mother-in-law told me about times my wife cried because she feared for my safety. My dad before me wore the badge, as well as an uncle. We all went to too many police funerals. I am the daughter of a fallen officer. My Dad was a State Trooper in Louisiana for 30 years. Then on the morning of October 3rd 2017 Dad kissed me and said I'll see you at lunch and lunch never came because a couple hours later my phone rings and my heart was ripped out of my chest. Dad had been killed in the line of duty. No matter what I will always be Daddys little girl. Thank you for this song
