Hey! Great video. I'm thinking of buying these. Do you think they are as sleek looking as some of the newer modern sneakers such as the 860v2 on feet? I want to pair them exclusively with shorts so I don't want them to look too bulky on feet, and I prefer the 860v2 over models like the 2002R and the 1906D for that reason, just to give some context. @@guynkicks worth trying on but not cheap! They're a stability shoe with a firmer ride and mine have lasted a long time although the mesh is starting to get a bit torn up. Debating another pair of something else. I'm gonna hit up the NB factory outlet one of these days. I hate shoe salesman lol.
As someone who owns both, the 990V6 will be a bit softer overall with more cushioning. 1540 is great too for support and really stabilizes the ankle like the 990, but it is a VERY firm shoe and it's slightly heavier for that reason. I pronate pretty heavily, so I need that enchanced medial support and while I love them both, I can wear the 990's for longer periods of time. I wear the 1540 primarily if I'm just running errands, while the 990 is my work shoe since I'm on my feet all day.
@@Mikey-1990 1540V3 turned into my work shoe. I had to quit my job due to hip pain. Always had to wear steel toe boots as a construction superintendent. Now I can walk again but ONLY in those shoes. The minute I put anything else on my feet instant hip pain flareup that can last weeks or months. I'm sure there's other shoes that are good but it's very expensive playing trial & error.
I like the Prom Blue pair better than these Paris Red pair but I’m wearing much more subdued colorways these days so I don’t think I’d get much (if any) wear out of either pair. I agree that JFG is a master at storytelling!
I liked them but it would take local / global release for me to bite the bullet. Couldn't justify running after them. The 997, on the other hand, didn't convince me. Looks like meant to be special but ended up kinda cheap / weird

Mine are on their way, I’m glad I picked them up. Just think they went too far with the filter on the advertisement shots. They suggested a tan shoe and delivered a grey one.
I own a pair of 3, 4, 5 and just ordered a 6…for the moment my preferred is the 3, the 4….then the 5, even if I began my 990 adventure with my 5. I agree with your choices too. Let me know you about the 6 I’m waiting, they look great !
@@guynkicks I wore them all day long, they are clearly the most comfortable of the 990s, it must be the new fuelcell sole, it's incredible how lighter they are and smoother…so I just ordered another pair in gray because I had the khaki green one
