I don't normally even watch stuff like this, but your commentary and editing is so funny and entertaining that I'm here for it xD. I especially rofled at the Chieftain Dj xD. Also, great music taste!
i just returned to KR recently, can you tell me where these mods are? I know revengeance and i've played it already but i'm curious about these ones aswell.
For what it's worth: I used to play KR and Frontiers back when they came out, but then got away from the franchise, and just picked up Origins, Vengeance, and Alliance all at the same time a couple weeks ago. I have actually been playing Vengeance the most out of the three games so far.
i really believe vengeance was a step in the wrong ditection. there were obvious advancements such as the graphics and new tower system. but there are huge detrimental factors that carried over to alliance. the monetization is just, why? i already paid for the game and now have to pay extra for more content. the new upragade system is still terrible, there is no incentive to doing any of the challenges or even getting 3 stars. the game is also kinda easy somewhat, im able to get through it quite well even on veteran (the original was a struggle). man it sucks they removed the encyclopedia.
Great video, I played Vengeance and it just felt off to me compared to the other games, and you helped shine a light on what felt wrong to me. I know I’m a little late to the party but Frontiers is actually my favorite in the series. You’re absolutely right, they reskinned some of the old models from the first game. However by the third level you get a completely new and unique enemy, the Immortal, and the game just opens up more from there. As for the towers (and enemy models, I suppose), I think Ironhide wanted to keep it familiar for the fans because it was their first sequel. They knew that the OG Kingdom Rush was beloved, so they didn’t want to take too many risks like completely changing tower design. Once Frontiers proved itself a success, the devs probably felt more comfortable with redesigning towers while they still serve the same purpose. To be completely honest, I have more nostalgia for Frontiers. I absolutely loved the first game when it came out in 2011, little third grade me ate it up. Then I found out they were releasing a sequel, and it was the first upcoming piece of media I can remember being excited about. Before my anticipation of Shadow of The Erdtree for Elden Ring, before my excitement at the release of the final season of Better Call Saul, before I was enamored with the first Black Sabbath album to be released since I was born, I was fucking hyped to shit for Kingdom Rush: Frontiers. Hell, I even wrote “KRF” on my hand in school the day it released since I downloaded it that morning because I wanted to remind myself to play it first thing after school. And my God, to 10 year old me, they fucking delivered. 20 year old me feels the same.
the game does tell you that you can click the icons so u can see in real time what enemies do,while i think this is great,we definetly need the wiki too,i do think this game was way better than vengeance, but it's still a far cry from kingdom rush 1 and origins, maybe it's almost as good as frontiers(frontiers is actually my favorite because of the setting being in desert-jungle-mountains-sea-dark ages but i think excepting verngeance, frontiers is actually the worst excepting vengerance, with origins being the best followed by 1. i also felt like this game was an improvement compared to vengeance but it still has lots of problems
Lots of the comments here are pretty unfair against the game. The game is decent, the balance is objectively better than Vengeance (at the very least pre-patches) and I'd argue even Origins, "It's boring" is a subjective non-argument and you can feel boredom playing ANY game, "too easy" not only do people experience difficulty subjectively, but Alliance has objectively a lot of elements that rises its difficulty compared to stuff like KR1 main campaign where things are simpler with the answers more obvious. And while not visually very interesting, the first area has easily one of the most engaging gameplay out of all the first areas in the series. "No postgame levels" every single KR game launched with little to no postgame levels at first. In general there seems to be this negativity bias surrounding the game to an extent which leads to a lot of bias and in a few cases outright misinformation against the game.
Well said and I completely agree, except for the part about the first aera being the most engaging, but as is evident, my opinion on the game is kinda irrelevant.
I agree with a lot of it. I didn’t like that it didn’t show you if you beat it on harder modes, so like why? It didn’t matter if I beat it on casual or impossible
Imagine if they just not release the game until they cooked up most of the future content for the next 2-3 years Each time they release a new game, it’s automatically inferior to the previous versions cause it’s literally not finished yet. I like the game but man I can’t recommend it to new players at all. Competition is fierce compared to the early days
