This is my all time favourite Patrick Wolf song and I'm only just discovering this version in 2022, fuck. It's such a brilliant song, and I remember hearing it as the second track on the first album just discovering him and thinking 'wow'. As fun and good as this demo is, the album version is so much better for the massive build up for the end
It's baffling why the Moz biopic 'England is Mine' didn't focus on Morrissey's friendship with James Maker; it'd have been a heck more interesting to watch than the rehashed how Morrissey met Marr story. James' influence on Morrissey and vice versa is very underrated amongst fans. Some time ago there was a chapter off Maker's autobiography floating around the internet and his prose style is almost identical to Morrissey's in his Autobiography. Had they approached him, the insights he'd have given would've been priceless. Well, unless they did and he said no 🤔

Only Patrick can compose something like this! He changes the entire style in the second stanza - whereas the first stanza is peaceful, the second one expresses the father's anger and violence, and the strength and desperation of the love.

I've been wanting to buy the digital singles of "Damaris" and "Vulture" for some time now after an old hard drive crashed but it seems like they're not available anywhere anymore, even on Spotify. Does anyone have the files in good quality they can send? Would buy legally if I could :/
