Founded in 2001, FirstPoint USA is the original scholarship agency and was created by athletes, for athletes. The company has secured scholarships for over 7,000 sportsmen & women from across the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand; brokering over $150 million on their behalf in the process. FirstPoint employs a team of over 30 staff to manage the scholarship process, with many of our team former scholarship athletes themselves.
When FirstPoint USA's founder, Andrew Kean, started the company, with the support of the Prince's Trust; his sole objective was to provide the same opportunities to others that he himself had enjoyed as a scholarship athlete in America. FirstPoint has grown to assess and interview over 16,000 applicants each year, across 4 continents, with 600 having scholarships secured by the agency on an annual basis.
He was known as Jim Calderwood in Castlemilk Glasgow. He lived one up at 48 Stravanan road my auntie went to school with him,she lived upstairs from him at 48 as well .They went to Windlaw primary and Grange secondary,he was captain of the team at Grange. She had a small scar on her head was like a millimetre she said Jim threw a stone when they were 9 or 10 but it was accidental. Windlaw primary isn't there now and 48 Stravanan rd isn't there either.Always thought Jimmy Calderwood was going to be manager of Scotland he was similar to Craig Brown.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but unless you play in the top grade grid iron competitions there is no local teams to play for recreational in the USA. Just something I've read about,I may be wrong but if it's true, there must be thousands of disenfranchised people looking to play some sort of weekend sport and rugby is the game for them. Not only the sports side but the feeling of the rugby family and community would be beneficial for them.Correct me if I'm wrong,I'm 55 now and if I wanted to go to any club in Australia id still get a run if I was fit enough or even play in the seniors.
@@russe19642 not sure about Australians and how they run their local rugby comps but if you come to New Zealand you wouldn’t make the local rugby topside or play. Rugby in New Zealand & South Africa is different and no hate but at 55 they wouldn’t let you run on the field unless you wanna coach?
@@Lio29520 I'm not saying I'd get a run in top grade, but when I played in western Australia we had old guys still playing over 50. What my point was it seems and I'm not certain of this but there isn't a local competition after high school/university or NFL.
@@Lio29520 no,I mean is there NFL clubs in the suburbs like in NZ,Australia and other rugby countries? Or is it just high school, colleges and the NFL then nothing after you give the big stage or want to play socially on the weekends
I'm 16 years of age, got a tremendous body structure, determined, highly educated, great leadership quality, got superb knowledge and understanding of the game of soccer & has positive life morals. It's my destiny to be granted an opportunity to express my self on higher levels. Can you get in touch with me? It will be a dream come through
