Thank you for sharing the cleaning tip. I used to disassemble and clean it, but I was unaware of this method. I am very pleased with the results. The proof -edge safety razors provide an excellent shave.
A Proof single-edge razor is a great way to save money on blades compared to a traditional double-edge razor. It is made of metal and should last a lifetime, unlike disposable razors, which are a waste of money. The initial cost of a single-edge razor may be high, but it will save you money in the long run. I am very pleased with the safety razor. Coming from someone who has a Henderson titanium safety razor, I can say that the shave on the Proof single edge razor is very nice. I am very satisfied with it and it should last me a lifetime. Maybe I will even pass it down to someone else. Plus, the video was great.
So if you do the math, 3 cartridges for $3, means $1 per razor, and you can get about 3-4 if not more shaves per razor, that would put each one at .33 cents per shave, where this is a one use object for .5 cents per, meaning around .20 cents for the same amount of shaves, so do you want to throw away four to five razors? Or spend the extra .13 cents to not throw away as much?
If something ever happened to my Proof, I’d have to order another; but that would mean I’d be without one for possibly a week- unacceptable!!! So I did what any logical OCD person would do….. I ordered a second one. That’s how good it is. PERIOD. Now guys- make a stainless steel version so I can buy another two. Ted. 👍 👍 🤣
We’ve made several performance improvements since our first launch. The handle is longer, it’s a bit heavier, there are stronger magnets in the cap, it not pivots with a spring and the razor head has been shaped to removed suction when shaving. Hope that helps!
In my experience with both old and new, the new head doesn't slip well. The comb pattern of the head appears to act as a tire thread. Rather, the older version slides much better.
