This video is FILLED with resources and wisdom!!! I debated trying something new as I ease my 4 1/2 year old into school. I ended up just going with what I did with my first 2 because it worked so well for them: Rod & Staff. It’s super simple and easy to follow, no big teachers manual to try and follow.😆 Today was our first day with it and she seemed to enjoy it! ☺️

So mad at myself for not getting Apologia Math for this year!!!🤣 You make it sound sooo good and so much easier than Math With Confidence. I only stayed with MWC because my child likes to but it’s so overwhelming for me I am wondering what was I thinking. Do you ever stick with something just because your child likes it or do you switch because it’s too overwhelming for you as the teacher?
@@beachgurl788 hmm sometimes I do, but if it gets to be too much then I strongly encourage we switch haha. But the times that has happened usually my daughter agrees at a certain point. That happened with TGTB math
The fact that your oldest wants to go to school with her peers says that you have equipped her to be confident to do so. It’s going to be a great year! And we love cle reading!
@@TheChan7 thank you! I think she is really loving it. She wants to be involved in everything. It seems to be working for her! But I’m also glad I can still homeschool the others.
It was an adjustment for us last year when two of the kids went to school, but for us we didn't really have homeschool because my youngest wasn't really doing school, but it can feel super weird at first and throw you off base. I love the tradition with the back to school grade sign! How did your first day back go??? During the school year we had a tradition where every second Friday after school the girls and I went to get frozen yogurt. I think we will do that again this year especially for my oldest so we can all reconnect. It's fun to create those little traditions! I hope all the kids have a wonderful school year! 🍎
You’ve got some very nice back to school traditions!!!🥰 We typically just take a group photo and do something special like pop tarts or a special cereal they like. With soon six kids we keep it very simple here.😉 Change is definitely not an easy thing! Best wishes to you and your girls for a great year of homeschool and public school!❤️
You will find a good routine that works as you go along. You have some nice back to school traditions. Sometimes it’s ok to just jump in and get started too. Every year and season is different. Thanks for joining the collab 😊
Thank you for this! Are the students graded on the practice questions for each lesson or just the quizzes? Are there walk-through answers to the practice questions so we can see where they made the mistake?
@@melanielazar1325 they are grades on everything..except reviews. They do find out what answers are wrong and I think they do see the corrected answers, but it isn’t a walk through video or anything of wrong answers.
I can’t imagine how hard this adjustment will be for your family. I had a dream once my kids had to go to public school and woke up sobbing 😭😂 the good news is, she can always come back home if she doesn’t enjoy it. Praying everything works out for your family as it should! We have a lot of changes this year as well! ❤
It was such a hard thing at first. We cried together a full day. But after a couple more weeks and her being consistent about it, I felt so much peace about it. I really think she will thrive there. But I’m also so glad my little ones are still at home with me

Do you think the little house in the big woods that you're using could just cover art and baking? It's not terribly expensive. I just don't need the language arts.Would it be that hard to take apart

@@herhomemakingheart thank you! Yes! That was a big part of us deciding ultimately that she could go. If I forced her to homeschool, I feel it could have been more damaging to our relationship and maybe even caused us to have a really bad year at home together.
Also we don’t do foreign language in our homeschool right now but I keep seeing and hearing good things about a company called Homeschool Languages. They have Spanish last time I looked. Just wanted to share if you wanted to look into it!
Are you still using Apologia Math??? I decided to continue with Math With Confidence for my first grader but it’s overwhelming me just like the MWC K did and I am regretting continuing with it now. Although my child loves it and does well with it, I just don’t know if I can keep going with it because it feels how overwhelming it is to me to keep up with. About to have a C-section for baby #6! My fall back is Apologia Math! You make it sound and look sooo good!🥰
Yep! We are still sticking with Apologia Math! We really like it. I’m just adding mathematical reasoning in for them for independent practice hopefully
