For some reason seeing this in 2024, and it occurs to me that it's going full circle--way back in 2007, Google made a simple toy flight simulator mode as an Easter egg for their stand-alone Google Earth app, which is still a free download (called "Google Earth Pro"). Of course, it's not a serious flight simulator and doesn't model the plane with anything like the fidelity that MSFS does, and the 3D buildings and structures are the much cruder ones that you get in Google Maps. It's also easy to over-fly the streaming, especially if you choose the jet fighter plane. And on my computer, at least, the joystick support is broken. But it's fun for digital tourism. You can indeed see your house from there.
Just tried this, it works - but it's nowhere near as good as hand tracking on a Quest. For now time/money is better spent building/buying a button box with encoders. Maybe one day!!!
STOP COPYING OCULUS OR META! JUST DO A HARDCORE SUPER WIDE FOV, HIGH CLARITY HEADSET - NO BATTERIES AND NO BS!!!!!! i spotted on the crystal light some lazy engineering to add a pad were the battery used to be - looks ameturish and makes the back end stick out a mile.................unlike vives pro headset cradle which is still better than Pimax. I hope they don't screw this right up...
Great video. I hate it that they stopped making 3D tv's. So can you watch a 3D movie in Pimax Crystal without glasses then? I saw the Pimax Crystal Light is available also now. It would be worth it for the the 3D movies alone for me already haha. My eyes are not the best for short distance anymore being in my 50s but i read that if you have good vision for distance between 1 and 2 meter that you have no problem using it. Is that correct? Greetings from Belgium.
Does the Pimax Crystal Light continue tracking when your controllers are behind your back? obviously there's no cameras back there but the IMUs should be able to continue for a few seconds like the Quest?
Need crystal super 🤤 Crystal and crystal light :2880×2880 / 35 ppd Crystal super : 3840×3840 / 50ppd and 57 ppd for micro oled version Human vision ~60 ppd (Ppd=pixel per degres)
Its not Bing that provide those 3D buildings and trees its procedurally generated from the game except for few cities that have been captured with photogrametry. What you show in the video is generated by the game itself...
Im doing this trip now. My Crystal Light should arrive next week. Upgrading from G2. Rumours has it that G2 will become electronic waste with the next 24H2 windows update.
When the Pro was released, I purchased the OG Vive full kit. And only recently did I purchase the Vive Pro as an upgrade for a lot cheaper than on release. It's still my goto headset and I have yet to find anything that's worth replacing it with for my use case and preferences.
