Yours was the only site that told me what I needed to know - what to jumper to start a harvest cycle (T-H). Bonus was how to test the fill valve (jumper V-N). Thanks a bunch
What if the water overflows and does NOT shut off. I already checked the ice maker water time screw its at the lowest time. When the icemaker needs to fill up, it just overflows and dose not stop until you turn the water supply off or unplug the power.. PLEASE HELP!!!
My ice maker, and refrigerator, is just like yours. The ice maker is working but the on / off rod is getting stuck and not dropping all the way down freely after a cycle is completed. What to do??
FYI Don't buy an ice maker from a appliance parts supplier. I went online to look my ice maker up and they wanted $149. I used the part number they supplied and found a brand new for $49 on ebay!!
Great explanation !! Helped me to determine my ice maker is ok functioning the harvest mode and the water valve. Im assuming now i must have a filter restriction since its not been making ice lately?!? Your thoughts?
I tried excatly what you said and also with the door switches closed but nothing happened, tested the water valve and T H but nothing happend, also only getting 56 volts to the plug, any idea?
Hello, please help me, I watched your video and checked the mechanism and water outlet, the situation is that it freezes in the outlet tube, and creates a clog, I already disconnected it once, and it did it again. It has a solution? please help me. Thank you
I followed the directions exactly as you said to make sure everything was working. OK, you did a great job. I waited then 24 hours and the refrigerator started to make ice again. I know that maybe the water line could have been frozen. So leaving the refrigerator off for await may have help. But because of your video I knew the ice machine was working. 😊 Thank you.
Bought a new icemaker and still nothing working. I'm getting 110 at the L and N. Jumper on T and H does nothing tho. Even used jumper on L and V and no water came out.
I did the test you showed and everything checks out. Im noticing not much warer pumps in to the tray. Could a old filter cause low water volume to come in??
Nice video! My ice maker just makes a click and that wheel doesn’t move when I put in the jumper. So it seems like it can’t harvest and I need to replace the whole unit?
I just subscribed to your channel and would like to know what city you're out of also coment on the vent for the dryer is not the right one as those will cause restrictions, t hose are for bathroom vents. You're like me I work in appliances as well as hvacr walk ins and reach ins keep them coming. I don't know if f you still making videos
Great video! Question tho - I installed a brand new ice maker, but it is still not working. When I put the jumper wire in, nothing happens. What should I check next?
Great Video, what a nice guy helping us poor folk out, or people that just hate paying for something they can fix themselves armed with some dangerous knowledge... haha.... So, even though this video did not help me figure out why my (original not the now fake Chinese owned fake GE applicences, but original) GE ice maker which has same things as that whirlpol of yours. Mine is making hollow cubes, why... ????sometimes they are "not" frozen, so I screwed the screw to negative to slow water ( i think ), but cubes just got more hollow, so turned to the plus side to much and over flowed, LOL... well that is my issue, but the whole reason for the comment, drum roll please !!!!... DUDE if you are local let me come show you how to change the 9 volt battery in the smoke detector (hahaha), and you come fix my ice maker and enjoy the grand view at the Parn Barn... LMAO... seriously love the vid, but how do you handle that chirp chirp chirp... hahaha, thank you kindly for the great knowledge my friend, It was quite valuable, i should not of yanked your chain as you taught me a lot today, but hahaha.... did anyone else hear the chirp chirp chirp in background? I seemingly fix my fridge. It wasn't making ice because the ice wasn't freezing come to find out I had a bad evaporator fan. Ordered a new one and replace it for about 50 bucks. My problem now though is that the water is coming out of the hose that is supposed to put water into the ice maker. Do you have to reset it or something like that?
What does it mean when I test the V/L water fills the ice maker, when frozen, dumps ice, but won't refill the ice maker unless I jump the V/L again. Where's the problem?
Forgot to mention how to test the motor for 120 volts AC plugged in or ohms unplugged, never jump L and N you will short out refrigerator, use meter to confirm 120 volts
