I live in Sausalito and often can hear the foghorns. My mom was raised in the Castro and Mission districts and was one of the thousands of school children who got to walk over the Golden Gate Bridge the day it opened in 1937. Thank you for all that you do to maintain our beautiful bridge. ❤
$224 million is what it takes. It quiets the wealthy; it appeases the wounded. It doesn't stop us that want to die. It wasn't meant to. It never could. So it won't. And so we continue to drop.
These guys aren't police, I honestly wish they were prosecuted for impersonating police officers. We not only pay taxes for REAL police, but not we're supposed bridge patrol "officers" in addition to library patrol "officers' (both of whom are security, not police). There's no law against defending yourself from them, just an FYI. The CHP may not like it, but these guys aren't the police and thus you can protect yourself from them if they lay hands on you.
They are still government employees and as far as i’m aware, they hold special commissions, (meaning they can detain and write tickets). And the only time they are going to go hands on with people is if they notice a fight going on or if someone assaults them first. They are mostly a deterrent. And only a Commiefornian like you would see this shit that way and comment the shit you commented lol. You are just upset that there are ways around impersonating.
Bridge Patrol Officers are Public Officers and are considered Law Enforcement Officers in the LE community. These Officers have detain and arrest powers while on duty under California Penal Code 836.5 and protected from any acts of violence against them under California Penal Code 217.1(a) Assault on a Public Official. If you assault a Bridge Patrol Officer, not only will other Bridge Patrol Officers come for back up, but other agencies as well such as CHP, US Park Police, US Park Rangers, SFPD, Sausalito PD and Marine County Sheriff's Office depending on the severity of the situation and who's closer to the Bridge Patrol Officer in danger. So no, I don't advice you to assault one or as you call it "defending yourself" and think that these Officers are less than what they really are. You may not like the outcome of your actions.
@@mrfilamfishing If they keep their hands to themselves, then they won't have to worry about people checking them. And no, they are not law enforcement officers, simply having limited power(s) to detain under certain conditions isn't a police power. Even the video emphasizes that they are NOT law enforcement
The golden gate Bridge isn't strong enough to stand a major earthquake especially now since California doesn't take care of it its rusting away in many places and the paint thats protect the Bridge from fog is also fading away leaving its wide open of a threat attack from fog thats carrying ran to eat away the steel and soon the Bridge will fail
Too bad they don’t actually try to solve missing persons cases because they are too lazy to do their job! How about you at least show Sydney West’s family the “supposed” video of their daughter on the bridge?! What are you trying to hide?!! I bet one of the patrol officers killed her and they are trying to cover it up.
Golden Gate do you work on private Gillig owner buses? I bought one and am going to convert it into a skoolie but need reliable mechanics to check it out and if not, can you recommend someone near Lancaster, CA or the surrounding areas of Southern CA.

I wish this guy could say what is the thing they do the most ?? Like, oil change ? Or if there is 1 thing they do over and over again ??? Or if he could mention the stress level ?? Like if he was ever failing behind and was caving in to the bullshit manager who wasn’t understanding ??? (Am i projecting my own ineptitude 🤔?)
@@UniversitySecurity Yes, it is, given that their job involves roughing up homeless people and impersonating police, they are very much over-compensated. Most of them don't even live in the city anyway, so they're basically winning the lottery. Their pay is much better than security jobs in the private sector and you know it.
@@UniversitySecurity Why do you think that PC 836.5 gives them more authority than PC 837? You do know that PC 837 allows citizen's arrests over misdemeanors? All PC 836.5 does is reiterate a power of arrest they have which would exist even if PC 837 was repealed. And nothing in 836.5 refers to emergency lights or firearms, so I'm curious which statute allows them to do that, that's what I meant by impersonating police.
@@greenelephant1231 830.7. The following persons are not peace officers but may exercise the powers of arrest of a peace officer as specified in Section 836 during the course and within the scope of their employment, if they successfully complete a course in the exercise of those powers pursuant to Section 832: (e) Persons regularly employed as inspectors, supervisors, or security officers for transit districts, as defined in Section 99213 of the Public Utilities Code, if the district has concluded a memorandum of understanding permitting the exercise of that authority, with, as applicable, the sheriff, the chief of police, or the Department of the California Highway Patrol within whose jurisdiction the district lies. For the purposes of this subdivision, the exercise of peace officer authority may include the authority to remove a vehicle from a railroad right-of-way as set forth in Section 22656 of the Vehicle Code.
@@greenelephant1231 you are mislead on a lot of information, and what security guards can and cannot do. And being paid that much for an area like San Francisco isn’t shit. I want to believe they are actually barely getting by, especially if they have a wife and kids. To live a barely decent life in the bay area you have to make around $150,000-200,000. There are private security companies in california who have lights and sirens. They can register their cars as emergency vehicles. It has to go through the County Sheriff.
You have explained everything you look for when trying to find people that are trying to die now I know what not to do so that you won't suspect anything I don't live near this bridge but where I live there are cliffs with forced helper goody do gooder nuisances that try to stop people from killing themselves you will not stop me and if you think the food thing will work it won't I hate food and drinks anyways the point is no one will stop me from jumping off a cliff I want to die.
In 1988 I rode a bicycle across the Golden Gate in a driving rainstorm, part of a solo bike ride from San Diego to Oregon, then back to Eureka where I lived for 10 years. While crossing I pretty much just hunkered down against the rain. Since then I have driven across four times (twice in each direction). I love your bridge.
