Hello fellow photographers! Welcome to my channel where we share and critique work of other photographers (mostly your work). Everyone can participate. Once per week, you can upload your photo to our subreddit. You will get my personal opinion as well as opinion of other professional photographers.
15:19... Completely disagree on all of what he said.. Why ruin the power of odds, well balanced . This photo tells a story, a dis interested stranger that guides you right to the main subjects via a built in diagonal , movement, an embrace, expressions and the framing is stellar. This guy is off his rocker with his advice.
Wow, I’m stopping this video halfway….this guy’s opinion means absolutely nothing to me….people need to shoot the photography that they like….opinions like these are absolute rubbish…..time to move on
Martin, our sincere thanks and kudos to you for your hard work and all your efforts at the channel and blog that has inspired many of us and helped us hone the way we take photographs and look at the world. You have done a lot with interviews and guest speakers- that even we have a hard time to keep up with! The Street Photography Rounds has been one of my favorite things that I looked forward to. Best of luck with the <pause> and we hope to see you soon and more of your own photographs. Best wishes, Satya
Thanks for comments Martin! My photo @satyarod Jukebox Girl was tighter as i was close and fired a few shots quickly with a 50mm. This is why I need a 35mm! I was drawn to her fingers playing with her necklace looking at the music tunes. The machine sadly was broken! I had taken on the black and white mode on the SL as the lighting was bad, with overcast day and mixture of tungsten and some white light at the bar that messed up the white balance. (It's an old used M6 that is kind of a Franken-Leica as was modded with a M4 top/ bottom plates. I am waiting for film rolls to post!) :)
Hello, fellow photographers. First of all, thank you to all of you who have participated in the About Photography challenge so far. We've done almost 40 rounds and many guest critiques on the channel. Today, I would like to tell you that round 40 will be the last round (at least for a while). There are several reasons for that and I will go through them. First is my inability to manage everything on time and keep all promises. I just realized that when getting ready for the stream, I keep saying things are getting delayed over and over. It might be for family reasons with my kids getting sick repeatedly, or my work when I just have little-to-no time to dedicate to the challenge. I am really frustrated because of that and I think it is unfair to you all when things like interviews or photopedia profiles are delayed again and again. I really like the project but I am just unable to keep up with it as it is for now. I would really like to get back to it not only because I have learned so much from you and our guests, but I have also met some wonderful people in this community. I am really grateful many of you joined and liked it. That is why I'll leave the door open to round 41 being available for submission. I can’t really tell when/if I will be back but I will use this break to finish all the things that have been delayed. I will definitely not quit photography. It is actually one of the reasons to pause this project as I really had no time to produce stuff for my main channel, and there is so much I want to do there, like essays and podcasts. I also want to take photos more often. All of those things are simply not possible for me with my current situation/schedule but I hope it all gets sorted as time goes on. In the meantime, I will be happy to see you around either on the blog or the About Photography RU-vid channel. Thank you once again! Martin
One question - when you mentioned the distortion issues of using an xpan like aspect ratio. Did you mean to suggests it applies to my photograph as presented? It wasn't clear to me.
Hello there, thank you for your feedback - it's always appreciated :) It was a very in the moment shot + I agree about cropping out the messy part at the bottom. Keep up the good work mate :)
39:07 haha its definitely more on the experimental side 🤣. I was trying to take something ordinary and make it look otherworldly. 😅 I have another version is more properly exposed which I will possibly submit in a future round!
really great video, I thought myself that the photos were pretty bad. I know a fair share about composition etc. as an artist. Logan is pretty much like any other guy with a polaroid.
hey u don't have to apologise for being harsh. Criticism doesn't always mean you think there's something wrong with our photos or the way we take a photo is wrong. We should see Criticism more of being open to new ideas and I appreciate ur ideas. although I don't always agree but I think that's the beauty of art. People can have their preferences. Hey, even the some of the submissions u voted as a finalist in my opinion aren't "nice" Photos. sometimes I really think there are other photographers more deserving of being in the finalist. so yeah don't be sorry. if you say sorry again in your next live stream, u will be seeing me in ur sleep. sweet dreams, my dear
I like how Tatiana's view is more lyrical, she puts accent on emotions. When I saw inframeswetrust's photo (39:24) it was Bresson who came into my mind first, with the big step over the puddle.
That cat photo gave me a good laugh, so it’s my favorite of the day. Also liked someone who had a completely different opinion of the photos, it made it a fun episode
