On my Channel I want to show you how I grow the rarest tropical fruit plants that you can imagine and bring them to fruit in pots.



A lot of you know Citrus, mangos, bananas, avocados and so on. That’s the normal stuff.
We are growing the rare and exotic fruits.

There is a really really big world out there with rare and really good tasting Fruits. Which are worth to grow in pots or if you can in ground.

@@thomastropics yeah! We planted 100 and just left them up to faith and the weather… that was a month ago and only 1 died haha, how about those odds for making anything grow here 😅😁

@@thomastropics i got 4 huge breadfruit trees... they're the largest trees on the land Also got 1 jackfruit in the making, but have about 20 ready to plant!

@thomastropics you're lucky. I'm trying to get some viable seeds, but even though we import these into our island they're too stale, as you know, Rambutan seeds aren't very viable after a few days, far less weeks.

@thomastropics that's true but to my knowledge they're none on island in Barbados. Importing fruit trees is quite difficult too

Was für Pflanzlichter verwendest Du denn? Wie viel Watt kannst Du denn für deine tropischen Pflanzen empfehlen?

Also ich habe sehr viele verschiedene. Die die ich empfehlen kann sind von Mars LED. Die sind der Wahnsinn. Etwas teurer aber die kannst du verstellen und sind Vollspektrum was sehr wichtig ist

The fruit image for the E.multicostata var. octocostata is showing Eugenia sp. Carambola. Octocostata fruit is yellow with green ridges

What I know there is three different multicostata. The normal one, orange and yellow

@thomastropics theres actually another multicostata. Theres an octocostata "verde" that is entirely green. I do not have the green one growing, but i have the regular orange multicostata, a couple of yellow multicostata, a few of the green/yellow octocostata, as well as Eugenia sp Carambola (with the pink and green fruit).

Awesome plants! Do you plan to grow these permanently in a greenhouse when they get larger? Just curious as I know you are zone pushing to the extreme where you are at.

Do you plant the seeds already have developed a root directly into potting mix or do you put them into your heated box with moss until the first leaves are coming?

Im leave them until they have there first leaves. But you can use it also only to root the seeds and plant then in soil

Yea they are little tricky. I think that one loves only rain weather.

Nice selection! Some of these tropical fruit seeds take forever to pop. Had some E. Copacabanensis and a bunch of wampee seeds that took almost 2 years to germinate.

Yes of course. There are a lot of other plinias that are nicer. In my opinion Malacacheta and Whatermelon or Spiritosentansis are really nice

I've been following your channel recently & I've noticed you don't follow the general rules of planting the seeds i think twice the seeds lenght below the medium but yet you've been able to germinate your partially sown seeds into some rather healthy strong seedlings. Very interesting indeed.

I have 6 from last year and now I will germinate 27 from this fruits. For me they are as same good as Mangosteen
