MLB Network without a live TV service. It's now a reality for MLB fans! RU-vid TV customers can now have their MLB Network for a small additional cost.
According to the MLB website, it does mention: "Fans can now stream select live out-of-market games, award-winning studio shows, entertaining original content and more". They do offer a free trial as well. 😉
You're welcome! Glad the video may have helped. Xumo is one of those that may get overlooked but it's a solid FREE streaming option that's worth a look.
So what problems are you having with Samsung tv's? I just signed up for Directv Stream bring your own device and have two Samsung tvs. I click on the directv streaming app and have no problems. It's just both tvs have their own remote which makes it harder to learn and navigate. I was a directv sat user for almost 30 yrs and become accustomed to their remote.
It would be nice but it may not be more than 100mbps just like the ONN 4K Pro streamer. Google may not see a reason for anything higher. We'll find out more soon.
I am surprised you did not talk about the Voice controls ... I was having it working on my Firestick 4k .. but had issues with new firestick 4k max ... but i am just dumb. Press hold the mic button and Say " tune to ABC 13 " and it will go to that channel. Same for any channel .. however you have to say the whole channel name ... .. if you say "Westerns" .. it will youtube search that. If you Say "tune to Starz Encore Westerns" it will turn too that channel.
Saying the whole channel name and by the time you do and the device responds, you can already be on a fav channel using the buttons.😂 We also found it clunky on the DirecTV stream Gemini device. It would be nicer if they were more responsive and worked better with less voice input. Believe it or not, voice commands are only used by about 20% of users. 🤔 Thank you for mentioning the voice commands and how you found it to work best.
Unfortunately that's getting tougher to find if using traditional cable service. At least we're seeing Spectrum and now even Optimum offering better priced streaming options.
I like the new update. I read comments on Facebook earlier this week from a number of people trashing the new update. I think the new look is much better then the old one.
Good to hear you're liking the updated home screen. Anytime there are changes to a user interface there will always be a fair amount of negative reviews. Most users will get used to it after using it for a little while. 😉 Streaming services need to make updates in a very competitive space.
The problem I have with RU-vid TV is that it doesn’t have A&E and the History Channel. For that reason, I would go with Hulu Live if I were to go to a live service. I would actually prefer to go to RU-vid TV, but I won’t unless they add these channels!!!
Very true! They do get away with a few missing popular channels. A&E for sure. Also it has no History Channel, Cooking Channel, and Lifetime comes to mind. Even with these missing, RU-vid in the name helps out a bit in the popularity department 😉
Great feature add for Sling being that they are a value priced service. I still miss their old app though with the horizontal channel guide that had on demand built in below.
One thing I don’t like about Fawesome is that its live channels are in categories instead of a cable like grid like other free apps have. I prefer Freevee and Pluto TV, both because of their selection, and the fact that they both have a cable like grid for their live TV channels. One thing that Pluto has over Freevee is that they have their live channels in categories in their grid, which Freevee doesn’t have. I think these two are the closest to a cable like experience that you can get without cable (though there are other apps that have live channels, like Xumo Play). All in all: Fawesome is a good option. But give me Freevee and Pluto TV any day!!!
@@7JANEWAY thank you for your great comparison with some of the other popular FREE streamers. Great point about the guide being in categories on Fawesome. They can definitely make some changes to compete with the others for the live TV guide. It probably is a good idea for any of these FREE streamers to offer a cable like experience so the cutting cord transition is easier.
It looks like 300 or so to start off. Eventually they may get around to all of them. Especially bas the service grows and subscriber feedback. A good thing is that they can do whatever they want being they have the right to their own content.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. You can get premium channels if you subscribe to their live TV service whether it be the blue or orange packages. When watching Free TV there's no way to add premium channels.
It's not right for this to happen right in the middle of the baseball season. Could it wait until the season was over. I want it back very soon. Don't want to miss out of the rest of the season.
Yeah unfortunately it always affects some kind of sports season. Have you tried to sign in using the channels standalone app using your credentials from Optimum?
It's not available on Sling at this time. You can get it on frndly TV or Philo. You can also scan for channels on your TV to see if it finds it on antenna.
I like Pluto's app but I gotta give it to Sling right now for enabling DVR capability on free channels. Tablo does too, just gotta use their new device. I believe Philo has as well but haven't checked it out, not a fan of their guide though.
