Did my first race Saturday (enduro). I made it 5 out of 200 laps. Someone got turned around and I hit him head on. Not sure how he's doing, but I'm a hurting unit! Thinking about moving up to something different.
Our local tracks are trying g to make it more affordable in 3 of 5-6 classes by using the GM 602 Crate engines. Only difference in the divisions engine is Carb size. 2 or 4 barrel. But evn those limited in cfms.
I did a new build In 2023 and I'm still dumping money into it. I have over 30K into this car. But that is a complete new built, 90% of the components/parts are brand new.
Hey, I know it’s six years later but I am hungry. I want this. It’s all I have thought about for the past two years. I’ve tried to get into other things but nothing gets going more than speed. I know I have the passion. I just a need a big break. A HUGE BREAK. I don’t come from a rich family and I don’t come from a poor family. I am confused and I want this badly. What do I do?
Awesome video. Now i want to network my way to meet a guy who runs supper stocks at Eldora, lima land, Wayne's field, Attica ,Oak Shade and Attomic speedway and any other track I can think of in ohio
Looks like you're in Florida or Alabama. Where do you run? I used to run down south in both states but now I run in upstate NY at Lebanon Valley Speedway
I'm amazed ... I worked after the Army, I took a job with DOD and ended up head of the sheet metal dept... I hand painted all the signage... I was spoiled, climate control massive work shop. Move to Australia in 1979 and worked in some truck yards, hot over 90 degrees ... tons of linseed oil to slow down the enamel... wraps use none pigmented inks ...short life and the vinyl lasts at best 7 years... One shot last longer...
Hey guys, we enjoy watching your build videos. Hope to see more. Can i ask you, where you guys are located? I think i heard you mention something like Carolina racing supply, or something to that effect? Just wondering where you're from, thank you!
I'll be 50yrs. old this month (Oct. 2023). I have never raced, and know next to nothing about working on cars. My cousins used to race and will be my pit crew. I would like to know the best class to start out in. I have the time, and some money, but I want to try it as cheaply and quickly as possible. I assume street stock might be the way to go. Any advice?
Hard to find any metric based 2door cars anymore to use the frame as a donor car to buod many types of pval track cars from pure stocks to pro trucks and limited latenodeks which are highly moded metric chassis. This is a very clean one at that i would have kept it and made me a street legal looking 80s nascar cup car from the mid 80s and put a big 410 sbc or even a 383 or something from a latemodel that makes anywhere from 410-800 horses. I actually didnthat with a meteic cutlas i got off ebay shipped to me thinking it was to far gone as a street car and wanted it for a oval track car but when it arrived had no rust flawless paint and interior juat missing motor
I wondered what brush Thom would have used for the loose script such as team names etc? A link to supplier would be great if any signwriter sees this comment.....Thank you for help and inspiration.
