Hope everything works out brother. Also a paraplegic that went through about 2 years of wound care in Florida for a stage IV decubitus ulcer. On my bum. This had started back in 2007. We finally got it healed through a Chinese medicine called Yunnan Baiyao. No hair is yet to grow over the scar tissue but it's a proven route to recovery. Mostly used by veterinarians. Hopefully you are never in the position to have to discover it works. Adding it for others to hopefully see and benefit.

I have a question about the video. Are you wearing something to protect your butt like a diaper? I used a transfer board two years ago to practice transfer, and I got hurt my butt, so I haven't tried it since then because I'm afraid to use the transfer board.

1981 19 years old T-12. You are facing the wrong way. Give yourself as clear a path to the toilet seat as possible not putting the wheel in your way. I would recommend facing the toilet at a 90 degree angle perpendicular to the toilet. This way the wheel isn't blocking you and you can transfer over the frame which can give you some support if you miss the transfer and need to make a recovery and not fall and hit the floor breaking bones. In that bathroom there is just enough room to do it that way maybe not exactly 90 degrees but close, .....closer. That way you have more direct path from the wheelchair seat to the toilet and back. Also…. Some loose fitting sweat pants might be possible to get on while sitting in a wheelchair but a pair of jeans tight fitting for women or even loose fit is a wrestling match you want to avoid.
@@freesoul3371lol it truly is a wrestling match, but they all go on one leg at a time, so taking your time and having some extra hands on deck can help you win that fight fare and square 😉
Auto mobility equipment installers and manufacturers like mobility works or mobility innovations have and can install a transfer board that attaches to the frame of the car seat and just flips up to close the door ane down for the transfer. I got hurt 19 years old 1981 T-12 and they gave me a board like that but I never needd it. Now I am 63 and want a Porsche 911 Turbo S which is a low vehicle seat with a gap space ofabout 8-10 inches from the door jam to the seat and want to make the transfer as easy and as safe as possible so I am exploring my options. I may just put a hunk of 4" or so firm foam in the vehicle door gap. check out the fixed plate transfer boards of mobility innovations....Good luck 😊
I've seen her say she was 14 when this happened. One article I found, I didn't know if this was her or someone with an identical name. doesn’t take away from the severity of the injury, but I guess you’re implying that she might get a little bit less sympathy if the cause of the accident was irresponsible use versus if the cause of the accident was rotting wood and bad construction
@@soundonsound71 I'm not implying the wood was not rotted. I'm saying there is more to the story. In truth it's negligence on the home owners part to allow teens to 1 put the contraption up and 2 to allow teens to pile in together. Just like too many people dancing on a deck, shit tends to get real very quickly. If you searched for any more of her statements, you'd see dislikes the sort of pitty sympathy she used to herself feel for disabled persons. It's changed her perspective.
First and foremost I apologize for not being in attendance for this and all the other sessions. Everyone has valid points about this topic. I think the system has way to many cracks and unfortunately those that really want change has to wait years. Money plays a huge factor bc not everyone has the funds. It would be nice if the government made changes that would help everyone looking for a pathway to citizenship instead of coming up with laws that categorize and put people in groups. This Land is made for you and me, but unfortunately it divides us and makes it impossible not to mention harder to make a living whether you're disabled, unemployed, homeless, or undocumented.

I put my left arm down beside me and shove my left hand under my buttocks. Then I put my right arm up by my head, and then use my right elbow to lift and turn myself onto my left side. Only takes about 2 seconds.
Dude. Why do you spend so much time on your stomach? I have a c7 c8 spinal cord injury. I've only laid on my stomach one time. It sucks. It feels like there's an 800 lb man laying on my back. It's a very difficult position to get into. And it's a difficult position to get out of. Way too much twisting, turning, and screwing around with repositioning the legs. I can't think of one good reason to land my stomach.

If your girl friend leaves you because your spine cord injury, she will met a guy total in love and he will be sick and die, that’s what I think if somebody so weak to left his/her love one because a medical problem.. karma we call that in Holland ..

@@MoreThanWalking last year 23 January, I felt down in mijn sleeping room, I Ben almost my hole life back pain patient (lumbar scheuermann), 7 hernias and one hernia was so big that he cracked complete my spine th9 even with leaking fluid, incomplete dwarslaesie, PAIN!! But that time I walked with oldmans stick, I had always back pain and again hospital in and out pffff, but walking by the day getting more and more less, to the dokter MRI (back where a complete a mess) now I can’t walk anymore, only standing for maybe 30 second.. Still can moving my legs a little bit but almost no power in t anymore, between the mri and neurology I must wait for 4 moths, Holland healthcare is compleet broken by cut back thxs Rutte. My blader and nr 2 I can’t feel it also no more, pee can I self but I don’t felt when I had to pee, so I pee every hour for sure, yeah wet bed it happens me now 2 times, nr 2 is every morning klysma and waiting, if you had luck 1/2 hour, bad days one hour or more 🤷♂️ MRI Kyfoses Stenosis th 10 I mis my L 1,2,4,5 Scoliosis torsion Still scheuermann of course And 7 hernias I felt last week hard on my but, that al my back cracks again, tomorrow again mri. I hope you can read my message and understand, because my English is not very well, sorry 🙈..
