Ah man! I wanted to see it so badly when it came in 2020, but then the pandemic hit. The show has an amazing history! I love going to the Orpheum and seeing the lion king mask up there
Usually curtain call is ok. Because it’s not actually a part of the show, you’re not spoiling anything and you’re not showing any of the actual performance. It’s like saying you’re breaking the law because you posted the credits of a movie for free, it’s just a bunch of names. Here it’s just a bunch of actors bowing, it has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the performance
For the first time, I saw The Lion King on Broadway at New York City for my birthday last year and it was the most spectacular and life changing musicals I've ever seen in my 28 years of my life! I love it so much! 10/10!!!
I watched this touring cast in South Carolina. And the guy that was Tugger was SO GOOD! We stayed at the cast door afterwards and he wasn’t as cocky as he seemed on stage at all! He was a really nice guy for sure. All in all, this was a really good cast.
Hi I am wondering if the cats ran through the audience in this show you saw. Because I just saw it in NC, and sadly they did not run through the audience at all! Which is 1 of my favorite things about it. So im wondering if its anti covid measures or just something w the specific theater.
Sadly this specific tour is choreographed to take out the Audience interaction. Due to covid safety measures the cast no longer leaves the stage, hopefully in the near future this will change
I just saw the show in Portugal and they went to many times to the audience like not only the empty rows but also to the inside of the pit into the chairs! During Rum Tum Tugger, he grabbed an audience member in the front and danced with her, it was super crowd interactive!
@@annaskellington1 I wish we still had audience Interaction like this - Sadly this is the only production still running that doesn't have any audience Interaction and it sucks.
Gugwana Dlamini Rafiki Gerald Ramsey Mufasa Diamond Essence White Sarabi Peter Hargrave Scar The Lion King Current US National Tour Cast St. Louis Performance Arts Center Theatre
Actually the cast above is the current cast and not the cast featured apart from Gugwana and Gerald and was performed at the Fabulous Fox Theatre in St. Louis MO 😀
It's a replica of the Broadway set, but every stage is different. And it should be noted that touring sets will always differ from broadway sets in some shape or fourm
This was my first time seeing a musical in a theater, I’m not huge into them, I knew nothing about Cats going into seeing it, but when I saw them when they came here, I was kind of blown away, the singing was so good that when I go to listen to the soundtrack from the original performances I’m like, it just doesn’t stack up to when I saw them here. Just crazy good.
So the choreo they use in the tour is the revival choreo? :/ I enjoy some of the new choreo (the victoria lift in the ball is incredible for example) but some of the changes I don't really care for. I'm seeing them in April, and I'm happy no matter what. But I'm a little bummed if its entirely the revival version.
@@disneydanny2 the main part of the set is the inflated set from tour 5, the rest of it and the embellishments are bits and pieces from the revival set which is the NAP 70 set which was used for the London Palladium/Vienna etc.
Your right it's not the UK Version and it's not trying to be. I much prefer Gillian's choreography myself but what you have to realize is that CATS is universally hated here in the states. That's why changes were made (granted not for the better) when it was revived on Broadway as they were trying to profit off of HAMILTON'S success by bringing in Blankenbuler
It's always found great success in Europe and other parts of the world, but generally speaking here, everyone hates this show with a burning passion. So even though I'm against these changes, if it gets people to like CATS then I'm all for it
