I will never forget how hard i cried when i first saw this scene, the soudtrack, the feelings will stay in my head forever, it was so touching and powerful, i have social anxiety, not as bad as komi but talking to people and making friends its hard for me, this anime is one of my safe places<3
This scene proves that Tadano is the person Komi needed in her life, because he did the best thing possible: by writing on the blackboard to respond to her, he adapted to her difficulty because he understands her and wants to support her. This is what you need to do with very shy and isolated people: don't force them, adapt to their way of communicating and help them little by little, no matter how long it takes. I wish I had received such help when I was at school. Very shy people are often misjudged and misunderstood because they are treated as social misfits when it is very often society itself that is the cause of their isolation.
now i can print the sailor moon animanga!! they are not selling them anymore, so i found all the volumes on the internet! no need to search for the animanga now :D thankss!
I saw another video a couple of weeks ago that was really good. Like 2-3 hours long where he showed everything he did. Sadly enough it got copyright striked and I didn't save the name of the channel so cannot find the person again. Anyway he used thicker paper for the cover and before used a editing software so that he could print the front and backcover in one and then just fold it over the pages. Then he just used some type of adhesive. Some paper/wood glue that he first applied to the backside of the pages in the book so they stuck together and then more to the cover and just clamped it all together and let the glue dry. I hope you understand my explanation otherwise just ask and I'll try to be more precise in my writing and explanation 😀
@@RFOBGL Not sure, I would guess that when you download the manga somewhere that the cover should come with. Usually the first picture when you read online is the cover of the manga so I guess he just used that but again not sure since I´ve never done it myself. Maybe start a reddit discussion where you ask people where you could find that. I atleast found out that the adhesive was probably some sort of PVA glue or sometimes called bookbinders glue.
@@RFOBGL Mangadex seems to be a good site to find both the manga and the cover of the book. Sometimes its wide so you can use it for cover but sometimes it only has the front cover. I would assume it's for manga that doesn't start as a physical book. Then it doesn't have the cover made yet
This scene immediately made me fall in love with the anime and manga. 2:14 And Gigachadano rizzed up the most popular introvert in school and succeeded.😎
I believe that this is such a powerful scene. As a Komi fan, I respect the initial steps of Tadano becoming Komi's first friend. I don't take it as an ulterior motive but as just a kind heart. One side of the party taking that step knowing that the other has social anxiety makes this scene so lovely. Reason why Katai is attached to Tadano is the same reason why Komi is attached.
i'm watching it now and i'm surprised how well it resembles A Silent Voice (Koe no Katachi) a lot, not only because Komi even if she actually can speak at the same time she can't (like Nishimiya) but at the same time there is someone that want to help that persone (like Tadano and Ishida), also this ost is sooo similar, i loved A silent voice so when i started the first episode and i saw this i was like "wtf i'm going to cry and i know actually nothin wait a minute 🥲😅. Now i'm at the end of Season 1 and wow is sooo beautiful, the only thing that leave a little bit disappointed is that Tadano and Komi do not have a lot of space to stay together without the pthers, like i would like to see them talking and stuff but alone in class or everywhere else
You have everyone else put her on a pedestal and treat her like a perfect goddess. And then you have Chadano who treats her as an equal, a normal person, and changes her life for the better. The guy even treated Katai normally and made him fall for him despite everyone else being intimidated by him Finished this show a month, absolutely loved it
I think Evangeline McDowell said it the best. "Little bit of courage -- that's the true magic." Think about it. When Komi was walking away, it was the little bit of courage from Tadano of initiating the chalkboard conversation that allowed everything. Then Komi turned around and worked up the courage to actually respond. Then when Tadano said he'll be her first friend (that was done naturally, so courage was not a factor), Komi worked up the courage to accept. And everything from then on worked out so well, for both of them, from each other AND with others.
I remember going into this anime blind, I knew the concept, a slice of life type of show, but I'm sure a lot of us can agree that it's relatable in so many ways, to feel like the odd one out, this anime really shows that through Komi, how its tough to simply talk to others, not because they don't want to, but because it's just scary, and I'm so glad it got recognized after so long, it may not be interesting to some people, but this one scene, I'm sure everyone would love.
That anime has a special place in my heart, it literally healed my depression and helped me see the bright side of the world. Two years ago i was afraid to make friends in high school and all the pressure from the surroundings made me hate living. Then i decided to give this a shot and from the very first second everything changed. I wanted to go to school and i even tried to make friends. I wanted to leave the house more often and every time something bad happened or i felt i wasn't enough or i was the problem, i would watch this or listen to the soundtrack non stop. It was the only way to clear my mind and relax. Now, two years later, I'm still not good at making friends just with anyone like how i used to do but at least i know that i can try and if anything bad happens I'll just come back here to relax and then I'll try again and again. There's always someone out there who'll accept you just like how you are so never give up and don't be afraid to try.
This show actually helped me feel like I'm not alone. I have extreme social anxiety like Komi's. And the music that plays. It honestly gives me a tiny bit of hope.
As someone who usually prefers and enjoys dubs (including this show's), I have to say the sub is the superior experience for this episode. The dub's version of this scene is FINE, but having Tadano voive-over the subtitled writing was REALLY unnecessary, and it kinda took away some of the magic of this scene.
