very cool idea. my scroll frame doesn't sew on i have a plastic snap on bar that still allows me to clip it on just as fast but now i know what to do if those plastic snap on thingies break
Hi Jody. Loved this video and I am a big fan of your online store. I do have some questions to ask you, but since the most recent video here is 3 years old, I’m not sure that you’ll see them. I think I will contact you tomorrow morning thru your store website. Anyway, if you do happen to see this comment…. I really appreciate all of the thought and ethics that you’ve put into your business. Happy stitching!
I'm getting my first stand/scroll frame today, and the attaching has literally stopped me from trying the scrolls. I'm going to try them now, so thank you!!
I don't love my Lowery. I find it wobbly, and I don't like having one end of the frame unattached to anything. I find that I end up moving it when I stitch. It might be just my personal style of stitching, of course, that causes that. I would like to see how you stitch on the Lowery. I can't seem to find the sweet spot where I am comfortable and the stand is adjusted correctly.
You can reuse the velcro on the fabric even once the sticky is gone by either sewing it onto the fabric or using double sided tape to renew the sticky. The double sided tape needed would likely be less expensive than replacement sticky velcro.
Thank you so much for your flosstube post! I absolutely loved it and I absolutely agree that people need to be made more aware of the time and money that goes into cross stitch and the the equipment we use and the cost of finishing of our projects - e.g. framing. At one stage during your post, you talked about wanting to do an exhibition. Have you considered collaborating with other cross stitch artists in your area and having an exhibition that shows off all of your artwork and awesomeness?
I love scroll frames. I too hate the sew on part. I have set aside my cross stitching for the past few years, but this might help me get back into it. Thanks!
I couldn't agree more, we should be paid as an artist! Glad I found your channel, and Etsy store. Bought my first pattern. You should put a link to your store, so many things I want to stitch!!
I just realized that I need to get my things together for the unicorns t-shirt because July 4th will get here super fast and I want to start it for season 3 of Stranger Things.
I am so looking forward to starting my rainbow unicorn t-shirt this July when Stranger Things 3 comes out. The bf already knows we're doing waffles and Stranger Things while I start that project for July 4th.
I hear you about the craft store. It's not quite as bad in Victoria. It's great to hear your in a great place, I have suffered depression and have anxiety also and have found cross stitch to help with mindfulness.
Thanks Andrea, it's taken me a while but I think I'm finally getting there. I must admit, I am loving making these stories. I just hope I can give my art a bit more love and not hate my paintings too much, because I'd love the story to have color
Psh, never counted Indigo as a color in the rainbow. If so, where is the teal and magenta and all that jazz. Like seeing the new webcam - the audio for me is good to. Ty for sharing your shiz with the rest of us
I thought it was a deliberate choice for there to be only 6 colors as it's more of an art style one would find on cool t-shirts from the 1980s. (I know if I had had a t-shirt like this, I probably would have worn it to threads.) Hmmm waste canvas . . . ? lol The audio sounds fine to me. The light looks a little bright on you, but that might just be the lighting source and not the webcam.
Thank you for this Jody! I've been thinking about switching to a scroll frame since I keep getting smashed stitches now with my qsnap in my new floor stand. I'll give the velcro a try. And I think you may be thinking of Walmart for us Americans =)
nope! I do this more often than I care to admit or when I highlight a few symbols one color and different symbols the same color so when I get there I'm like WHAT JUST HAPPENED??!!
I viewed your shame..........hahahahahah! You are so close to being done with Octavius and I'm really getting excited for your finish! We need to have a long chat about your backside...I have a story for you on that subject :D
Sooooo glad everything went well with the surgeries. YAY!!! <3 I can only imagine the scare you had with the other surgery. Thank you so much for giving Bewitched Stitches a shout out. Your new website ROCKS!!! I'm about to start The Black Raveness piece with Cristal today. I'm so looking forward to it. Much love dear. <3
OMG you had me chuckling Jody. I had the same light bulb moment ages ago when I got shitted off with my Frank Edmonds scroll frame - you know, the ones that have that awful plastic clamp thingy (like what's on q snaps). Velcro works like a dream. I got mine by the metre at Lincraft - never gave Bunnings a thought lol. I'm on the Gold Coast........great video. Cheers, Elaine
