I've been looking up commercial-free and open font licensing, but I never saw anything that explicitly states if it applies to an organization/company. That said, can companies use fonts under the OFL/Appache license for, say, localization, comics, and the like?
Thanks for sharing, I have to say that this video is the most helpful for me. But I still have some confusion about the fonts that are under the Open Source License(also known as GPL 2.0), so what should we about them?
Hello, Thanks so much for your video and insight, it is very informative and helpful. Since you are talking about licenses. I'm after the font Marker Felt by designer Pat Snyder for commercial use. I couldn't find it to license it anywhere :( not even on the website you've used Myfonts. Any help/info would be much appreciated. Thank you!
I'm also confused on one point, are you saying that Apple saved us $500 because we ARE allowed to use Avenir Pro in our websites? Or do I still need to buy that license before publishing?
I am an artist and do alot of free hand caligraphy, what if i find a font on a site that is beautiful and use that font as my idea/guide to paint/free hand it onto my art work, is that illegal?
As I understood, it's possible, in this video he says "edited font can't use completely new name" but in OFL-FAQ says "we can't use reserved font name, and even the word also." but if original font name is "hoovia elem", you can use "hoo era", "ele via", but you can't use "hoovia atam", "betem elem" as your new font name. am I wrong?
Is it okay if I use ''any'' logo that I can download which has written (for personal use only) for a logo design for a client and create an outline of it before delivering the main source files like .ai .PSD etc or is this illegal?
Hi Vahan, thanks for this informative video. Are all fonts installed on MacBook free for use on RU-vid videos? For eg 'Phosphate' as licence is not mentioned.
What if i make and sell a font to a dozen people and and then i happen to see it all over the Internet few years later. Given that some fonts very similar and thrn created to outlines, my question is how can I be sure that's my fonts and how can o take action of people stealing my fonts. I feel this will be a very long journey clamping everyone down stealing my work.
Can I ask if you could use a “Free for Personal Use” Font for a Facebook Page? This has been a question in my mind for weeks now. Note that the Facebook Page is a Personal Facebook Page/Personal Gaming Page. Can I use it?
