I thought I'd hate the brass section in the middle without the full brass but the interplay of the violin and trumpet (?) is actually really smooth and delicate, gives it a whole different vibe.
They do a great job as always, but I really do hope they recruit a new lead guitarist to replace Dave Foster. This music deserves the biggest sound possible. I’m always a little disappointed when they don’t have the full brass section, though I do understand the logistics and cost involved.
There's a total disaster at 2:30. Am I right in thinking the keyboard player is playing the bass line, and that when the rest of the band carries on as planned into the final verse he thinks he's reached the end of the song and repeats the opening riff by mistake? He doesn't seem to work out what's going on until the end of the verse...
I think that's right. He's back on track when Nad sings It is here. Ouch! I played weddings for decades and this would happen sometimes when we had to play a song we weren't familiar with. You keep going until it falls back into place.
@@threeleggedman oh, I've been there too! Just surprised to see that big a slip at that level. I'm wondering now if the bass line isn't a sequencer. Compared it to the other performance on YT from Paris on July 1 2024.
