How was the lingual aspect?? Aren’t we supposed to start cavity preparation from lingual side??
@user-cp7gh8zj6b
@user-cp7gh8zj6b 13 дней назад
The caries is so extensive and the buccal enamel is thin it would not have been preservable. If the lesion was lingually placed then its worth accessing from that side.

I suffer from this but it is difficult to explain to dentists, sometimes they do not believe or don’t want to wait.

I can carve back quickly with burs, but rounding the matinal ridge with burs does get time-consuming. This was good advice! Thanks!

Hello colleague, I often use chamfer burs, which allow me to preserve more tissue. I also read in an article that it is actually important not to polish the stump, as you get extra retention from the microstructure left behind by the roughness of your bur (up to 100 microns).

I was having a cracked tooth done today. The dentist put in two long injections. During drilling, the nerve caused awful pain. I now have a temporary filling and have to wait 4wks to see if they can try again or tooth will need to be extracted.

Thank you for this. I am that patient that has a strong gag reflex. I have major issues just trying to get one tooth e x-rayed. I may be looking into dentures but my dentist is concerned that I will not be able to wear them for the above reasons. I am trying to find ways to de sensitize my gag nerve. 4 am and I came across your video.

Most dental phobias are the result of traumatic dental treatments in childhood. In the 50's and 60's dentists didn't use novocaine before filling teeth. The pain was excruciating.

When I went to the dentist after 15 yrs, I had to get some work done. My first appointment was general diagnostics and establishing my needs. I was shaking and my Dr realised that. He just went back a little, looked at the scans and told me, that I need one tooth removed and two implants. I asked him, if I could get anaesthesia and he said in some, I don`t know - way: No, I don`t think, you`ll need that, I get you through this. And I just believed him - I don`t know why. I had to get another 8 appointments, I did some dentalhygiene, new composit fillings and after around 2,5 months, I had new teeth and I don`t feel anything anymore. The one thing, I can remember, that helped alot was, that he didn`t overexplain things. I am no professional anyway, so it wouldn`t have helped, if he would have described me each step along the way. A general: It`s a little implant, takes me 2 Minutes each, in 20 Minutes you will be out of the chair again. That`s it, I didn`t have to know more. And, as he told me, the procedure took less than 10 Minutes, pulling a tooth, 2 Implants. I had to wait for local anaesthesia to develop around 10 Minutes. The rest was a joke. It even went so far to not needing any local anaesthesia for the new fillings...
