There Main Goal wasn't to be a huge band in the Music Industry or "Successful" (I don't know what you mean by that), It was to help people through the hard times in there life.Tell the fans and/or audience Gods messages on What the right thing to do in life. When it comes to writing songs, yeah, you can make them fun, quirky and slap happy (Hot Chelle Rae songs), but you also want to write songs that will inspire people (Mentally and Physically)!!!!!
I disagree, I think that her pushiness of the chorus emphasized the despersation of it. Though the original was undoubtably good, I think the interpretation is different all together. The notes aren't perfect in the chorus and the rawness in her voice is showing a new light; the desperation of her loss of this person's true self/the truth in the lyrics. The original was more in a subtle tone to emphasize that it is almost too intense, and are trying to convince themselves.
In this time, I'm glad bands like Flyleaf and Eisley will probably never be "successful". It's a hard road for them and I support them by going to shows and buying their records. Still, "success" in this time is really nothing but being a consumable. Flyleaf is not mass-consumable. Thank God for that. I don't fucking want the mass consumable shit out there that's for sure.

Didn't know U2's version -or original, that is- and I'm not a particular fan of either band, but I definitely prefer Flyleaf's version... so, yeah, original beaten ^^
